GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Musical Theatre: The Addams Family

The Addams Family continues TONIGHT and runs for this final week:  March 13-16, plus a 1pm matinee on March 16.  This show is laugh-out-loud funny and highly entertaining! Come see your fellow students in their wacky and spooky character roles on stage.  Tickets are on sale through Mrs. Marshall in the accounting office; call 250-658-6672.  $15 for Adults, or $12 for Students/Seniors. Open seating.

Talent Show
This year's Talent Show will be in April but the Sign-up sheet is posted now in the Student Lounge. All acts are welcome. Talk to Ms. Giordano if you have questions.

Times Colonist 10K
There is still time to sign up to be on Claremont’s TC 10K team. This year's race is on Sunday April 28th and our team is open to all staff and students who wish to run, walk or jog. No experience is necessary. Register online and make sure you select School Team Challenge and Team Name “Claremont Spartans” from the drop down menu. See Ms. Graves for more information.

Team Trivia

Which team will reign supreme before Spring Break?  TODAY at lunch, Team 1 will face off with Team 2 in Ms. Tong's Room (323).  Team 3 vs Team 4 will be in in Ms. Stover's room (322).  New players are always welcome.

CSI Swimmers were in Kamloops over the weekend at the Provincial Championships.  The team was 3rd overall and Individual Provincial Champions include:

CAREER CENTRE
Coast Capital Savings Internship Program

It's that time of year again, and the Coast Capital Savings - Youth Get It - Internship Program recruitment is underway! Coast Capital offers this valuable, fun, and paid work experience opportunity to students entering grade 11 or 12 in September 2019. There are 8 positions available in the Greater Victoria area. Deadline for applications is April 5. Visit the Career Centre for program and application information forms.

Saanich Summer Internship Program
Saanich Parks & Recreation: Summer Internship Program is designed to support youth ages 16-18 years to gain valuable work experience. Mentored part-time and full-time placements are available in summer camps and community settings throughout Saanich. Interns receive up to $500 for completing the program!  Application deadline is May 15.  Apply by sending an e-mail to Alana.Goddard@saanich.ca  explaining why you want to be a summer intern or phone 250-475-7624 for more information.

Volunteer Opportunity
Volunteers are wanted for the Victoria International Jazz Fest, June 21-30.  Calling all musical students! If you play any of the following instruments, WE NEED YOU! - Guitar, Trumpet, Keyboard, Trombone, Double Bass or Alto Saxophone. We need volunteer help with this year's Tom Lee instrument petting zoo, to help kids try out different instruments. Local yard/garden clean-up and maintenance (raking and tidying up) is needed by a local senior. Part-time.  $15.00/hour.  Long-term yard and garden maintenance potential for the right candidate. Please, no smoking and no dogs on the property.
Peninsula Country Market at Stellys Fair Grounds: June 1–October 13.  2 Students are hired to help out at this weekly market each year. If you like to be outdoors, the sound of live music, fresh fruit & veggies this is a wonderful summer job!
Yard clean-up in North Saanich. $60 for 2-3 hours work picking up and stacking fallen branches.
Summer housekeeping for large home North Saanich  -  20 hours per week @ $15.00/hour.
Spreading gravel on 10 ft. garden bed in Sidney.  Approx. 2 hours @ $15.00/hour.visit the Career Centre.
Chuck's Burger Bar in Sidney is looking for someone to join their team as a dishwasher, Thursday to Saturday evenings. Earn wages + tips.  Experience is not necessary, just a positive attitude!

New Scholarship Updates

To get the latest updates and information on Scholarships sent to your phone or mobile device, download the Hangouts Chat app, login with your sd63 account and join the Scholarships room.  Be sure to turn notifications on.  Tens of thousands of dollars will be up for grabs in the next two months.  Don't miss out!  Also, there will be a scholarship  meeting TOMORROW (Thursday) at lunch with Ms. Tong in room 323.

NEW UVic Admission Acceptance Deadline – May 1
Attention students with offers of admission to UVic in September 2019: please note that your admission acceptance deadline has been moved up to May 1st, instead of June 1st! If you have any questions or concerns please contact the UVic recruiter for Claremont.

Reminder to Grads to get your Grad Transition forms and interview completed while you still have time to choose your own person to interview you!  GT forms are available from the Career Centre.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
