GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fine Arts Students

Any student interested in attending the preview performance of Shrek on Thursday May 2 , @ 8pm - please see Mr Plant for a permission form.

Biological Expedition to Mexico - Info Meeting Tonight
Are you interested in a 2-week biological expedition to Mexico in July 2020?  There is an information meeting TONIGHT at 5pm for any interested grade 10/11 students and their parents  in room 203.  See Mr. Homan or Ms. McAvoy for more information.

Blood Drive – May 13
Lets roll up our sleeves Claremont and donate!  Canadian Blood Services will be in the small gym on MONDAY Monday, May 13th for a blood drive.  Each unit of blood collected will save 3 lives. Donors must be 17yrs or older to donate. See Ms Chapman for more details and to book an appointment.

Report Cards – April 30
Report cards will be distributed in Home Room on TUESDAY April 30 at the end of block 1.

CLUBS
Math Club

Results are in for the Pascal, Cayley and Fermat contests.  Congratulations to the top finishers: Sloane Wensauer (Pascal), Tyson Sinotte (Cayley), and Sandy Xing (Fermat).  Results are posted in the math wing.
Special congratulations to Sandy Xing who was invited to a week-long workshop at the University of Waterloo in the first week of June as a result of her high score!

ATHLETICS

The Claremont Tennis Team is still looking for female tennis players to fill the roster.  Any interested girls, see me Mr Gardner in room 327 for info.

Kids Klub Centre is looking for fun, energetic and dedicated staff between the of ages 16 and 18 years old to join  their fun summer staff team at various locations around Greater Victoria.  $12.65 /hr, 
30 hours/week, July-August.

The Red Barn Market on West Saanich Road is hiring.  Lots of positions available. Please apply in store.  Bring your resume.
Tim Horton's at Royal Oak is hiring! Several shifts available. Please apply in person with your resume.

Adrienne's Tea Garden at Mattick's Farm is hiring for a part time dish washer and ice cream server. Please see Mr. Arsenault with your resume for application information.

The Bottle Depot is looking for full-time summer help. Part-time positions are also available now until July. Competitive wage and great benefits.

Volunteer Opportunity
May 11th is the 9th annual Anneswer To Cancer fundraising event, taking place at Finlayson Turf Field. This event has raised over $330,000 to date for Victoria Hospice, and they're looking for volunteers to help with face painting, loading, unloading etc.  A volunteer hours letter for hours can be provided upon request. Job Fair – April 29
The Fairmont Empress is holding its last Career Fair of the season on MONDAY April 29th from 3:00-6:00 pm at the hotel. There are still quite a few positions available that are great for summer jobs. Free Training – Face Painting
Introduction to Face Painting – Saturday May 4, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Shoal Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney.  This is a fun hands on workshop using You tube and imagination!  A great skill to have for volunteering or working at fairs, festivals or farm markets! More info in the Career Centre.

GRAD 2019

See the link on the Grad Webpage for submitting your introduction;  this is the message you want read out as you walk across the stage at the grad ceremony.  Deadline April 30.

Scholarship
Beacon Community Services is a leader in the community whose mission is to help people and improve lives.  BCS offers up to 4 scholarships of $1500 to graduating Grade 12 students who show dedication to community service/volunteerism.  Deadline to apply for this scholarship is May 1.  See Ms Tong or visit the Career Centre for more information and application details.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
