GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Student Achievement 

The first ever Canadian Open Water Swimming Trials were held on Grand Cayman, Cayman Island this past weekend.  Finishing a 10km marathon in open water 3.8 seconds ahead of a three-time Olympian, Chantal Jeffrey earned a spot on Team Canada!!  Chantal will make her national team debut this summer.  Spartan pride!!

Fine Arts Students
Any student interested in attending the preview performance of Shrek on Thursday May 2 , @ 8pm - please see Mr Plant for a permission form.

Blood Drive – May 13
Lets roll up our sleeves Claremont and donate!  Canadian Blood Services will be in the small gym on MONDAY Monday, May 13th for a blood drive.  Each unit of blood collected will save 3 lives. Donors must be 17yrs or older to donate. See Ms Chapman for more details and to book an appointment.

Track & Field

Track and Field team: there is a very important meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym immediately after block 2.  We will be getting organized for our last track meet Wednesday at UVic, as well as the Lower Island Championship meet next week.  Please spread the word and please make sure you attend.

Jr Girls Soccer
For the Jr Girls Soccer team: there is an important meeting TODAY at lunch in room 303.
Teachers: please excuse the Jr Girls Soccer team TODAY at 2:00pm (they will miss block 4) for their semi-final game @ Lochside vs Lamrick Park.  Kick-off is at 3pm.

Kids Klub Centre is looking for fun, energetic and dedicated staff between the of ages 16 and 18 years old to join  their fun summer staff team at various locations around Greater Victoria.  $12.65 /hr, 30 hours/week, July-August.
Red Barn Market on West Saanich Road is hiring.  Lots of positions available. Please apply in store.  Bring your resume.

Volunteer Opportunity
May 11th is the 9th annual Anneswer To Cancer fundraising event, taking place at Finlayson Turf Field. This event has raised over $330,000 to date for Victoria Hospice, and they're looking for volunteers to help with face painting, loading, unloading etc.  A volunteer hours letter for hours can be provided upon request. INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Are you Surfing on the Tofino Trip?

If you are an International student going surfing on the Tofino trip, please come to the office at lunch time to give us your height, weight and shoe size.  The Surf Shop needs to organize your wet suits ahead of time.

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
