GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Spartan Day & Terry Fox Run/Walk – Sept 26

Our first Spartan Day is THURSDAY Sept 26! We’re also supporting the Terry Fox Foundation with “Toonies For Terry” this day.  This is a day to wear red, bring a "Toonie for Terry" have a school-wide Terry Fox Walk/Run and a fun lunch time (food truck, music and fun). More details to come!

Grade 12s: if you would like to help out with the Terry Fox Run on Sept 26, please sign up on the sheet posted outside the dance studio.


CLUBS

Some of Claremont’s clubs are starting up this week, and there are more to come.  There is something for everyone!!

Robotics Club

The VEX Robotic Club is having its first meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 220.  New members of any grade are welcome. No robotics experience necessary.

Super Smash Bros

Super Smash Bros Club will begin TOMORROW at lunch in room 215 and run each THURSDAY. Bring your own Nintendo switch controller to join in on the game.

Key Club

Earn service hours, meet new people and get free snacks with Key Club.  First meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in room 135. Come by to learn more.

CAREER CENTRE

Work Experience & Camosun Apprenticeship Programs

A heads-ups for all students taking Work Experience or a Camosun Apprenticeship Program.  Please see Mr. Arsenault or Ms. Loukes this week in the Career Centre to update your status (we have moved the Career Centre to the counselling hallway). Mr. Arsenault is available each morning, and Ms. Loukes is available each afternoon this week.

Passports are now ready for pick up from Brenda in her office.


Camp Qwanoes – Applications due Sept 18

Camp Qwanoes is filling up quickly!  Get your signed consent forms and payment into Brenda this week.  Space is limited.


COMMUNITY NEWS

Peninsula Youth Clinic 

For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand. 

Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone. 

-any medical concern

-get prescriptions

-speak with a counsellor

-access to STI and pregnancy testing

-access to birth control
