Jr and Sr Girls Volleyball

This past weekend was an exciting one for the Girls Volleyball Program at Claremont.

Our Junior Girls, led by tournament MVP Maya Brodie and first team all-stars Ava Mann, Adia Pye, and Jill Waller, swept the Stelly's Kicker Tournament, easily taking home first place. Additionally, our Junior BLUE team came in 4th place, an incredibly impressive feat in the 20 team tournament!

Our Senior Girls Volleyball program also had a great weekend, losing only a single set on the way to the VIU Invitational Championship. Captained by Eve Collombin and led by first team all-stars Olivia Boulding, Mya Sheridan, and Abby Phillips, the Senior Girls dominated all the way through the finals.  Congratulations girls!  Go Spartans!!

Rowing

This weekend, the Rowing team had their first test of the season on Elk Lake.

The Novices competed in a skills challenge and did well, and then followed that up with a duel in a mixed 8+, placing 3rd overall!

The afternoon saw the experienced athletes compete in the Head of the Hamster, a 3km loop, and we had terrific results:

Women's Quad placed 1st, 2nd, and 10th.

Men's Quad placed 1st, 2nd, 4th, 12th, and 14th.

Women's 1x placed 2nd.

Men's 2x placed 2nd.

All events saw Claremont boats on the podium, and the entire group was key to the regatta running smoothly as well as cleaning it all up at the end of the day in record time! Great work Claremont!
