Camosun Duel Credit Courses
If you have signed up for any Dual Credit course through Camosun College for second semester (Business, Criminolgy Psychology, or AP Bio), please attend a registration meeting THIS THURSDAY at the start of lunch in computer lab 225. See Ms. Giese or Mr. Pama if you have questions.
Peer Tutors
If you are a senior student interested in being a Peer Tutor, please see Ms. Giese in the counselling area to sign up. All academic subjects are needed, but we already have requests for Peer Tutors in the areas of Science, Math and English.
After School Academic Support
Help from Education Assistants is available on MONDAYS and WEDNESDAYS for one hour after school in room 235 (computer lab) in the areas of English, Socials, Math and Science. All students welcome.
School Photos and I.D. Cards
If you still need to pick up your school photos and I.D. cards, they are all available in the office – all grades.
Booking Counselling Appointments
If students need to book an appointment to see a school counsellor (Mr. Pama or Ms. Giese), please see Mrs. Watson in the Career Centre.

ATHLETICS
Spartan Sweep in Volleyball
Congratulations to ALL FOUR Claremont Volleyball teams participating in tournaments this weekend, as ALL FOUR teams came first in their respective tournaments.
Sr Boys
Congratulations to the Sr. Boys Volleyball team who went undefeated at the VIU Tournament in Nanaimo this past weekend. For the grade 12 players, it was their 4th year in a row winning this tournament. Tournament MVP was Ethan Boag, and Jordan Yue had an All Star weekend. The boys host Stellys and St. Andrews this Wednesday at 6pm in the big gym.
Jr Boys
Congratulations to the Jr Boys Volleyball team who went 14-0 this weekend to win the VIU tournament. Solid play by all players led to this success. Special congrats to Carter Munro and Isaac Brajcich for receiving All Stars.
Jr and Sr Girls
Both the Jr and Sr Girls Volleyball teams won their tournaments at Camosun College. Congrats to Olivia Boulding as the tournament MVP, and to Mya Sheridan and Eve Collombin for receiving All Stars. Go Spartans!

Canadian Coast Guard
Students interested in careers in the Coast Guard: sometime during the week of Nov. 12-15, Claremont will be hosting a Coast Guard Recruitment Officer to present and discuss opportunities for students to join the Canadian Coast Guard. If you are interested in attending this presentation, please sign up at the Career Centre.

Food Safe Level 1 - Friday Oct. 25Th, 8:30 am –4:30 pm @ SHOAL Centre in Sidney, 10030 Resthaven Drive. Cost is $50.00 - Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted. Food Safe is useful for anyone working in the food service, food retail, or food processing industries. You will learn how to handle food safely in order to prevent food from being contaminated.
Alert First Aid With CPR "C" & AED - Saturday, November 22, 2019 -8:30 am to 4:00 pm @ SHOAL Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive. Cost is $50.00 -Cash, cheque or credit card is accepted. This fun, interactive, and comprehensive 8-hour course trains people how to react & improvise during life threatening emergencies. This course meets the Adult & Child Licensing Guidelines.

Grad Portraits
The grad portrait appointments have started. Lifetouch has their portable photo studio at Claremont for a limited time only, now until October 18. To book your appointment, please go to the Grad Portrait website: schedule.prestigeportraits.ca Don't put this off until later, or all of the appointments will be booked up and you will run out of time. Sitting fee of $25 is due at the time of your appointment (if you know you are not purchasing photos, no sitting fee is required, but we DO need you to have a photo taken for the yearbook). Peninsula Youth Clinic
For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand.
Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone.
