GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Spartan Day – Today
Today is a great day for a Spartan Day. First, we will be cheering on all four of our volleyball teams who are heading off to Provincials later this week (Go Spartans!!). Then, we invite all Spartans to come watch some exciting basketball at lunch time in the big gym, as our Sr Girls play against our Sr Boys.
Comm Rec 12 Class – Field Trip Today
Ms Harris’s block 3 Comm Rec 12 class: all students need to meet the bus at 12:10 TODAY at the front of the school for your field trip.
Mr. Ryan's Winning Teams Get Pizza - TODAY!
Attention Mr. Ryan's PE Classes! The following winning teams can come collect their pizza TODAY at the beginning of lunch in the PE office:

Student Parking – Registration Required
Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot: you must be registered to park there. Permission forms are in the office. To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.

Jr Girls ‘B’ Basketball
For all girls interested in playing for the Jr Girls ‘B’ Basketball team this year: there is a very important meeting TODAY at lunch in small gym. See Mr Reisig if you have any questions or cannot attend
Jr Boys ‘B’ Basketball
Jr Boys ‘B’ Basketball players: practice is TONIGHT 5:30–7:00 pm in the small gym.
Sr Girls ‘B’ Basketball
All Sr Girls ‘B’ Basketball players: there is a meeting on TUESDAY at lunch in the small gym.
Girls' Lacrosse Team
Girls’ lacrosse team: we have a practice TODAY after school, 3:40 - 4:40 pm. Please get ready as quickly as possible because it gets dark early these days.
We have a meeting TUESDAY at the beginning of lunch in room 276, for those playing on Friday and for those new to the class that can help out with the concession at the games on Friday at UVic.
We also have a practice WEDNESDAY (possibly at UVic) under the lights 3:30 pm to 5:00 pm. School bus to get there and back if needed.
CAREER CENTRE
Part-time Job
Arbutus Grove Nursery is looking for 5 students right now that would be available to work Mondays and Fridays from 4:00 to 7:00 pm. They would be helping package trees for shipment. Starting wage has been increased to $14.60 an hour. Please contact the Career Centre for more information.

A representative from McGill University will be visiting Claremont THIS THURSDAY Nov 28 at lunch in the Learning Commons. Come hear all about McGill University’s programs and admission process!

Parent Night is for the parents! Come to hear information about admission requirements for our programs, scholarships, and upcoming application deadlines, plus some advice on helping your student transition successfully to life in university. There is an important grad assembly TOMORROW (Tuesday) in the last half hour of block 2 in the theatre.

Winter Gala – Dec 4
Attention all grads. The Winter Gala will be on Wednesday December 4th from 7-10pm. Tickets are $25 each and will be sold in the Student Lounge each day this week during lunch. The deadline to buy a ticket is this Friday Nov 29.

Grad clothing will also be on sale in the Student Lounge each day this week during lunch. The deadline to order clothing is this Friday Nov 29.

COMMUNITY NEWS
Peninsula Youth Clinic
For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand.
Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone.
