Important Dates

A NIKON D3100 55mm camera has been lost in the school. It is in a black case and contains an extra roll of film.  If you have come across it, please help out your fellow student and return it to the office.

Grade 9 Immunizations – Due Back Dec. 13

Reminder that the deadline to return  immunization consent forms to the office is THIS FRIDAY Dec. 13.  *There are a number of immunization forms waiting to be picked up still in the office.

Photo Retakes are Here

If you had photo retakes taken, they are now available for pickup in the office. New student I.D. cards too.

Bus Passes are Here

If you are registered to ride the school bus, the bus passes have finally arrived.  Please come to the office to pick yours up.  The bus drivers will start asking to see them soon.

Toys 4 Teens – Dec 3-10

TODAY and TOMORROW are the final days for our 7th annual "Toys For Teens Donation Drive."  Claremont donates Gift Cards for Teens in Need in our community in support of The Zone 91.3's annual Toy Drive. 

Students are encouraged to bring their donations to their Block 1 class (or the front office if they do not have a Block 1 class). The Block 1 class who donates the most gift cards will be invited to The Zone's wrap-up party at Mayfair Mall on December 13th at 9am to drop off the gift cards. Thank you for your support of this great cause and for sharing the Spartan Spirit. Happy Holidays!

PAC Fundraising – Country Grocer Receipts

Support the Claremont PAC with your Country Grocer Receipts!  Funds go towards the Breakfast Program, Grad 2020 and other clubs within our school community. Receipts can be dropped off at the Claremont office.  Thank you!

Student Parking – Registration Required

Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot: you must be registered to park there. Permission forms are in the office. To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.  


Knitting Club

The Knitting Club meets TODAY at lunch in room 207 (Mr Vucko’s room).  Everyone is welcome... beginners or experienced knitters!  All needles and yarn are provided.


Jr Boys Basketball

Congratulations to our Jr Boys Basketball Team who came home with a First Place Trophy from their tournament this past weekend in Chilliwack!  The boys showed excellent heart & hustle and continued to improve in each of their three games; they ended up beating the home team in the final by 25 points to take the title!  Well done Spartans!!

Girls' Lacrosse 

Girls' Lacrosse (returning grade 11 & 12 players only): there is an IMPORTANT clothing meeting on WEDNESDAY, Dec.11, at lunch  in room 276 (foods classroom) to look at the clothing/equipment choices. 

All girls' lacrosse students will have a meeting early next week to fill out order forms for the lacrosse class.


Free Training in Computer Science at UVic

Students in Grades 10-12 can attend free training in Computer Science during winter, spring, and summer breaks at HighTechU, a division of UVic.  Visit the Career Centre for more information!

Explorations in Technology

Registration is ongoing for TEAC 105 (Engineering Sampler-Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Computer), taking place at Camosun through the South Island Partnership. There are still spots for Feb 2020.  Talk to Jen Loukes in the Career Centre soon, if you're interested!

Grade 12 Students! About 22 of you have completed Graduation Transitions... Come to the Career Centre for your sheets, and get your interview, DPA, and 30 hours of WEX or Volunteering done sooner than later... Why wait!

The online bookings for grad photos is now open for first time bookings only.

Parents As Education And Career Coaches – Jan 30

Are you the parent of a high school student? Would you like to help them with their post-secondary choices? This is an interactive workshop designed to give you the skills and confidence you need.  Educational Planner is presenting "Parents as Education and Career Coaches" on THURSDAY January 30th, 6:30 pm, at Stelly's Secondary School. Peninsula Youth Clinic 

For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand.

Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone.
