Winter Concert – Dec. 11
The Claremont Music program presents a Night of Concert Bands TOMORROW NIGHT (Wednesday) in the Ridge Theatre, starting at 7pm. The Claremont Concert Band will perform a beautiful range of music, with a guest appearance from the Greater Victoria Senior Concert Band. Admission is by donation. Come by for an enjoyable evening of music!

Grade 9 Immunizations – Due Back Dec. 13
Reminder that the deadline to return immunization consent forms to the office is THIS FRIDAY Dec. 13. *There are a number of immunization forms waiting to be picked up still in the office.

Toys 4 Teens – Dec 3-10
TODAY is the final days for our 7th annual "Toys For Teens Donation Drive." Claremont donates Gift Cards for Teens in Need in our community in support of The Zone 91.3's annual Toy Drive.
Students are encouraged to bring their donations to their Block 1 class (or the front office if they do not have a Block 1 class). The Block 1 class who donates the most gift cards will be invited to The Zone's wrap-up party at Mayfair Mall on December 13th at 9am to drop off the gift cards. Thank you for your support of this great cause and for sharing the Spartan Spirit. Happy Holidays!
Photo Retakes are Here
If you had photo retakes taken, they are now available for pickup in the office. New student I.D. cards too.
Bus Passes are Here
If you are registered to ride the school bus, the bus passes have finally arrived. Please come to the office to pick yours up. The bus drivers will start asking to see them soon.
PAC Fundraising – Country Grocer Receipts
Support the Claremont PAC with your Country Grocer Receipts! Funds go towards the Breakfast Program, Grad 2020 and other clubs within our school community. Receipts can be dropped off at the Claremont office. Thank you!
Student Parking – Registration Required
Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot: you must be registered to park there. Permission forms are in the office. To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.

Sr Boys ‘A’ Basketball
Come support the Senior Boys “A” Basketball team this FRIDAY at 6pm here at Claremont, as they take on the 6th ranked team in BC, St Georges. Go Spartans!
Girls' Lacrosse
Girls' Lacrosse (returning grade 11 & 12 players only): there is an IMPORTANT clothing meeting on WEDNESDAY, Dec.11, at lunch in room 276 (foods classroom) to look at the clothing/equipment choices.
All girls' lacrosse students will have a meeting early next week to fill out order forms for the lacrosse class.

If you are interested in hearing about the experience of basic training with the Canadian Armed Forces, please meet a past grad and Ms. Giese in Computer Lab 225 at the start of lunch on THURSDAY for a question and answer session.
Free Training in Computer Science at UVic
Students in Grades 10-12 can attend free training in Computer Science during winter, spring, and summer breaks at HighTechU, a division of UVic. Visit the Career Centre for more information!
Explorations in Technology
Registration is ongoing for TEAC 105 (Engineering Sampler-Civil, Mechanical, Electronics and Computer), taking place at Camosun through the South Island Partnership. There are still spots for Feb 2020. Talk to Jen Loukes in the Career Centre soon, if you're interested!

Parents As Education And Career Coaches – Jan 30
Are you the parent of a high school student? Would you like to help them with their post-secondary choices? This is an interactive workshop designed to give you the skills and confidence you need. Educational Planner is presenting "Parents as Education and Career Coaches" on THURSDAY January 30th, 6:30 pm, at Stelly's Secondary School. There is no registration and parents can just come! Peninsula Youth Clinic
For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand.
Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone.
