GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Athletics Meetings

There are important meetings for the following Athletics classes:

Strength and Conditioning students have a meeting TODAY at lunch (11:45) in the main gym. See Mr Reisig if there are any questions

Morning Basketball class students, need to attend a very important meeting this FRIDAY at lunch in the big gym. Please have your masks on and see Mr. Dunlop if you cannot make it.


Student Information Verification Forms

Reminder to please return the Student Information Verification Forms to either your morning teacher or to the office early this week so the office staff can update student records. Whether or not there are any changes to make, parents are asked to please sign the form and return it to the school .


Locker Forms

Any students who are using lockers, please be sure you return a Locker Selection Form to the office this week.


Lost & Found

A set of keys on a Claremont blue & red lanyard was found at Sombrio Beach yesterday. If you were out enjoying beaches along the Juan de Fuca Trail and lost your keys recently, they were turned into the Juan de Fuca Provincial Park office and will be in their Lost & Found department. The Park office number is 250-474-1336.

A portable speaker was found outside on last week’s orientation day. Please come to the office to claim it.


Cafeteria Food Service

Cafeteria service will have limited selection and quantity this week, but will be building on both amount and selection by next week. As a food service, we follow all restaurant safety procedures and protocols as determined by the Provincial Health Authority.

Cafeteria service is cash only OR you can purchase a punch card from the Accounting Office for $5 or $10.


Student Parking

Students who are parking in the student parking lot need to be registered. Permission forms will be in the Accounting office starting Monday Sept 14th.


Masks

Reminder that masks are required when students and staff are in high traffic areas where physical distance is not possible (hallways and washrooms). Students have each been issued non-medical reusable masks for their use in the school and they need to bring it, or a replacement, every school day please.


If Your Student is Absent or Late

if your student will be absent or late for class, parents are asked to please email your student’s teacher AND the Attendance Line. The Link for the Claremont Attendance Line is on the Quick Links on the Claremont website’s home page: claremont_attendance@sd63.bc.ca


Students Leaving Early

If your student needs to leave class early for a planned reason, parents are asked to send your student with a note or text to show your student’s teacher AND the office staff. Students need to sign out at the office.


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Lunch Meeting - Sept 22

New and returning International students MUST attend an important lunch meeting on TUESDAY Sept. 22 in the Learning Commons. Lunch is provided. If you have any questions, ask Brenda.


CAREER CENTRE

First Aid Training

1st Level First Aid + CRP: Saturday October 24, 8:30-4:30.

This looks GREAT on a resume. Location: Shoal Centre in Sidney. $50. Contact Sara at Beacon Community Services, 250-507-5680 to register. Limited space so please register early.


Canadian Universities - Virtual Info Events

CUE - Canadian Universities Events - Connecting students to the finest post-secondary opportunities across Canada!

Students will be able to register and login for the CUE virtual events on the day that suits their schedule. Each attending CUE institution will be hosting online sessions during the times listed below, and we encourage students to explore these virtual booths with curiosity and an open mind. Student events are scheduled for:

Grad Pinnies

Grads: If you still wish to buy a Grad 2021 pinnie, they will be available this week in the Accounting office with Ms Marshall. $25.
