GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Math Contests

The CIMC and CSMC math contests are happening TOMORROW (Wednesday). All students that have signed up for these contests must go to room 314 (upstairs) at 9:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.


Pyjama Day – Nov. 19

Claremont’s next theme day is Pyjama Day on THURSDAY Nov.19. Come to class in your favourite onesie or flannel pjs and fluffy slippers.


Report Cards – Nov.19

Report Cards from Quarter 1 will be handed out to students THIS THURSDAY Nov. 19 in block 1 classes. IF you do not have a block 1 class, please pick up your report card in the office.


Morning Breaktime Food Service

Starting MONDAY November 23, the Spartan Store. located just beside the cafeteria service window, will be open for breakfast and snack service between 10 and 11 every morning. They will have reasonably priced coffee, hot chocolate, hash browns, breakfast wraps and baked goods..... perfect for a mid-morning treat.


ATHLETICS

Intramurals Start Monday Nov 23

Starting Monday Nov. 23, intramural sports will be offered at lunch time. Teams will be formed based upon pre-assigned ‘intramural cohorts’ in Junior and Senior divisions, and students can sign up online for our first offering: indoor soccer. Unfortunately, there will be no spectators permitted, due to COVID precautions. For information, consent form and registration, refer to the infomation billboard at the top of the Claremont website home page:Claremont Athletics / Intramural Sports Registration.” Please hand in completed consent forms at the main office. Please register before Nov. 20. Teams will be formed and a schedule posted on FRIDAY Nov 20th. For any questions, please contact Mr. Reisig or Mr. Freeburn.

E-Sports (League of Legends) Team

For the participants of the Claremont E-Sports Team for League of Legends: There will be an important meeting TODAY at lunch in room 133. We will be dealing with registration and sign up. Please be there as close to the start of lunch as possible, and please wear a mask.


Trivia Club

Do you Love Trivia? Come for some friendly trivia competition on WEDNESDAYS at lunch in Ms. Tong's room (room 323). And please wear a mask.


YCI

Claremont’s Youth for Change and Inclusion Club meets every WEDNESDAY at lunch in room 302! We are a youth-led social justice group working to create positive change within our school and community. Contact Mrs.Guthrie (room 302) for more information.

A new Photography Club starts THIS THURSDAY Nov. 19 at lunch in room 207. Come check it out! Everyone welcome.

UVic Student Recruitment has organized many virtual events for Students and Parents...

For example, Parent Nights will provide parents/guardians/supporters the opportunity to learn more about UVic. Attendees will enjoy a presentation by Dr. Lisa Surridge, Associate Dean of the Faculty of Humanities, with some helpful tips on being successful in post-secondary studies. Grade 12’s: Did you know that YOU can access your own transcripts from the Student Transcript Service website? You can view your transcript and/or send them to a Post-Secondary Institution of your choice, at any time. It is easy to make a BCeID account on the Student Transcript Service. Courage To Come Back Awards
Have you been inspired by someone who has overcome overwhelming challenges and quietly goes about making the world a better place for all of us? The Courage to Come Back Awards recognize British Columbians who have overcome adversity or illness and have gone on to become role models for others. Recipients are selected in each of the following categories: Mental Health, Addiction, Medical, Physical Rehabilitation, and Youth. Peninsula Youth Clinic

Peninsula Youth Clinic is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.


Foundry Youth Clinic

Foundry Victoria Youth Clinic offers young people ages 12-24 health and wellness services, with doctors, mental health workers, and peer support workers. Foundry is open for virtual and on-site appointments. To make an appointment, call 250-383-3552. Phones are answered beginning at 10:30AM on weekdays to schedule appointments for the day.
