Report Cards – April 30
Quarter 3 report cards will be handed out TOMORROW (Friday) in block 1 classes. If students don’t have a block 1 class, they can pick up their report cards in the office.
30 Hours Work Experience or Volunteering
Reminder to CLE/CLC students (especially Gr. 12s): When you have completed your 30 hours of Work Experience or Volunteering, ask your employer or volunteer coordinator to confirm your hours via email to Mrs. Watson (Career Centre) - <span lang="EN-US">cwatson@saanichschools.ca</span>

GRAD 2021
OnLine Courses Completion Deadline – May 31
Grads: If you are applying to university/college, make sure you have completed any online courses (SIDES, NIDES, etc) by May 31st. This deadline allows for sufficient time for coursework to be graded and final marks to be sent to the Ministry of Education, for your transcript.

Grad Package #2 – Deadline is TOMORROW (at noon)
Reminder to Grads: please be sure to complete your Grad Package #2 by NOON TOMORROW (FRIDAY). This document is essential, as we continue to build your virtual graduation ceremony. This package includes information about nominations for Valedictorian(s), MC(s), and signing up for your window of time for filming your ‘crossing of the stage’ and visiting the photo booth. The link to complete the Grad Package #2 is on the Grad Page of the Claremont website. You must be logged into your account on the Claremont Website to access this.

One easy way to support the 2021 Grad class is to use a Thrifty Foods Smile Card for your grocery shopping. Thrifty Foods will donate an amount equal to 5% of the dollars you load on to your pre-assigned Smile Card to the 2021 Dry Grad. Smile Cards can be picked up at the Claremont office.

Magic Wand Project
Magic Wand Project is a non-profit organization that offers an inexpensive and eco-friendly alternative to grad outfits for both girls and boys. This is a chance to borrow, rather than buy, a dress, suit or tux, (a small fee for cleaning is the only charge). All outfits are new or like-new, and all accessories are included. Any student is eligible.

Student Transcript Service
Grade 12’s: Did you know that YOU can access your own transcripts from the Student Transcript Service website? You can view your transcript and/or send them to a Post-Secondary Institution of your choice, at any time. It is easy to make a BCeID account on the Student Transcript Service. Based in the UVic Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, HighTechU is an innovative learning community for high-school-aged youth in British Columbia to make connections, build professional skills, and explore diverse education and career pathways related to technology. Camp
Ignite – Summer 2021
Camp Ignite is a Youth Fire Fighter
Mentorship Program for grade 11 & 12 girls, ages 16-18 that
educates and inspires young women about careers in firefighting. This camp
offers girls an introduction to the world of firefighting as well as learning
about fitness, nutrition, health and teamwork. The plan this year is to run a
2-day camp (no overnight) on August 14 & 15; one day in Vancouver and one
day in North Vancouver. Saanich Fire is looking to sponsor one grade 11
or 12 girl to attend. Application deadline is June 1. Please see Mrs Watson in

Saanich Youth Leadership Summer Placement Program
Are you interested in spending your summer working with kids? Do you want to be a leader in your community and work with diverse individuals? This summer, Saanich is offering a Mentored Placement Program for youth 14–17 years old. Participants in this program will have the chance to work in an outdoor camp setting with kids and a personal staff mentor. It is a great stepping stone for youth who are interested in one day working in community recreation, education, social work, athletics, human services, child and youth care, ECE IT recreation and health education and so much more. Peninsula Youth Clinic
Peninsula Youth Clinic is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
Foundry Youth Clinic
Foundry Victoria Youth Clinic offers young people ages 12-24 health and wellness services, with doctors, mental health workers, and peer support workers. Foundry is open for virtual and on-site appointments. To make an appointment, call 250-383-3552. Phones are answered beginning at 10:30AM on weekdays to schedule appointments for the day.
