Semester 1 Drop Date – Dec.17
The last date to drop a class and not have it show up on your transcript is THIS FRIDAY Dec.17th. Students must fill out a drop form (they are available in the counselling office or Mrs Watson’s office) and have it signed by a parent and teacher first. THEN they can then bring the signed sheet in person to Mr. Pama or Ms Giese to make the drop happen.
Spartan Wear
Did you miss out on buying clothing from the last Spartan Wear order? You have one last chance! Surplus clothing will be sold EACH DAY this week at lunch in the Student Lounge. All items will be reduced in price and will be first come, first served until items run out. Limited items and sizes.
Music Concerts
Are you ready to enjoy some seasonal music? Claremont Music concerts are well underway:
The music students have been performing in three concerts over the past week. These concerts have been recorded and the digital link will be shared on December 17th.
After School Homework Club
For all students who would like extra help in Math, English, Science or Social Studies: help from Education Assistants is available on TUESDAYS & THURSDAY after school 3:15-4:15 in room 235. All students in all grades are welcome.
Winter Café – Jan. 17
Are you a performing arts student who is craving to perform? Claremont’s Winter Café will be on January 17th. Vocalists, instrumentalists, solos, small groups, you name it. Start rehearsing a piece early and polish it up for this special event! Sign up will be on the music bulletin board when we return after the winter break.
Waterloo Computer Contest Meeting
For all students registered to write the Waterloo Computer Contest: there is a meeting TOMORROW (THURSDAY) at lunch in Mr. Beeston's room - Rm 236.
Lost & Found
Two very nice black winter jackets, a digital watch, and an analog watch are still in the lost & found. Also, from the Grad Winter Gala, there was a black sweater and a beige coat left behind. Please come to the office to claim them.

Saanich Schools International Student Program is looking for new host families for our International student who will be joining us in February 2022, as well as host families who would like to be available on short notice for students currently here. This can be a wonderful opportunity to make life-long friendships and share the beauty of your home and community. Host families receive a generous monthly allowance of $975 to offset expenses.

Grad 2022 – Bottle Drive Fundraiser: SUNDAY Jan 9
Here is a great way to support the grad class while cleaning up after the holidays. It’s a win-win! There will be a NO SORT Bottle Drive on SUNDAY January 9, 9:00-3:00 in the Student Parking Lot. Get rid of your empties and support our grad class. Drive-through and drop-off will be easy. Volunteers are also needed; here is the link to sign up to volunteer.
Grad Photos: Update from Lifetouch
Lifetouch is experiencing significant shipping/delivery delays due to the flooding and travel restrictions across the province.
If you are waiting for proofs, and you want to view or order your photos: log into www.mylifetouch.ca and use your student number for access. If students/parents need to check on their order, please phone Customer Care at 1-888-676-1647 or use the chat feature on the mylifetouch.ca website. Hopefully the travel and delivery services will return to normal soon. Lifetouch thanks you in advance for your understanding and patience.

Student Trainee - Construction Project Management Opportunity
Architecture49 and WSP Canada have 10 openings available for individuals of the Pauquachin, Tseycum, Tsartlip, Tsawout or Malahat First Nations who are interested in hands-on training in the fields of Architecture, Landscape Architecture, Interior Design, or Engineering. NEWS FROM CLAREMONT PAC
Parenting Workshops
The Confederation of Parents' Advisory Councils of Saanich (COPACS) and the PACs of School District 63 (SD63) are pleased to offer SD63 parents/guardians a series of workshops hosted by local parenting educator and counsellor, Dr. Allison Rees. The next upcoming workshop is: Sidestepping the Power Struggle - Monday, Jan 17 - 7:00-9:00 pm. In this workshop we focus on practical solutions to questions like:
"Do consequences work, if so when and how?"
"How do we get kids to take responsibility?"
"How do we get out of the negative relationship patterns like nagging and power struggles?" Great information for parents with children of any age. Please register for the session by emailing: keating.pac@gmail.com

Peninsula Youth Clinic
The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at 2379 Bevan Avenue in Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30-7:30pm for help with any medical concern (physical, mental, and sexual health). Call 250-656-4143 to make an appointment with a physician or counsellor. Services are 100% free, confidential, and explicitly inclusive of all genders and sexualities!
