Mr. Peter Westhaver has been appointed to the position of Director of Instruction – Diversity & Inclusion with the Saanich School Board. Mr. Westhaver will complete the school year at Claremont before starting his new position at the school board office on August 1, 2022.
Mr. Westhaver began his teaching career in Saanich in 1990 and has held a number of roles and responsibilities since that time. He has been Principal at Royal Oak Middle, Stelly’s Secondary and most recently at Claremont Secondary. Mr. Westhaver has a consistent focus of building awareness and understanding about the diversity of student needs as well as creating innovative learning environments for both students and staff. He is passionate about guiding and supporting the district’s community of learners and partners by focussing on relationships, mutual respect and trust. He is excited about his new role and will definitely miss the students, staff and parents at Claremont.
