Women in Technology and Trades Event - a success!
The WITT - Women in Technology and Trades - Field Trip to Camosun was a huge success. Claremont Secondary Students and other students from SD63 were welcomed with open arms and provided with a day of exciting hands on learning in various departments of technology and trades. Opportunities for exploration included Electrical, Culinary, Computer Science, Electronics, Sheet Metal, Automotive, Camosun Innovates and Mechanical Engineering. Right now women make up only 5% of the trades force, but the BC Government has a goal to increase that to 20% - It's looking good for WITT!
