A Saanich teenager is being hailed as a hero after he revived an 82-year-old man by performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Thomas Ottewell, 17, was returning home from Claremont Secondary School when he saw people crowding around the man who was on the ground; he was not breathing and his heart had stopped.
