GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Head Shaving fundraiser
The head shaving fund-raiser for Tour de Rock is on, and the block 2 fund-raising competition continues all week.  Bring donations to your block 2 teacher.
Shave your flow for dough:  Are YOU willing to shave your head in support of cancer research and to raise funds for the Tour de Rock riders?  Please see Mr. Ohl or Mr. Quested if you'd like to get your name on the list. All the money you raise can be donated to your block 2 class.

In case you haven't heard:  Claremont is now on Twitter!  Follow us @SD63Claremont to stay connected to everything that's going on around the school.  Spread the word!

Peer Tutors
We are looking to build our Peer Tutor list because we already have many requests for help.  Peer tutoring looks great on a resume! If you are a strong Math and/or Science student who could spare 30 minutes to an hour of volunteer tutor time per week, please see Ms. Giese in the counselling office if you think you can help.

Bus Passes
We have BC Transit bus cards in the office for the following students to be picked up:  Danielle Austin, Shaylin Bridges, Jesse Gough, Tyson Hendra, Joe Jackson, Bre Kerr, Jane Kim, Colton Lidstone, Andrew Sherring, Phaza Stanfield and Apryl Taylor.
Also, there are still many school bus cards waiting to be picked up.  

Blood Drive
Way to go Claremont!!  Many students have already signed up to donate blood. Please return your consent forms to Mr. Spoor ASAP.  Donors are still needed. Please sign up to donate blood. See Mr. Spoor for more details

INTERNATIONAL

For all International Students:  If you have NOT given Brenda your passport yet, please do so NOW.
The deadline for the International Whistler trip is near! Seats are filling up quickly, so get your package in FAST.  And the first PIZZA lunch for International Students is on TUESDAY October 1st.

Todays Intramural Volleyball games will be:
Senior Division:  Staff Infection #2 vs Team Nolan
Junior Division:  Team Tyler Glanfield vs Team James Taylor

Volleyball
The Sr. Boys Volleyball team host Mt. Doug and Esquimalt TONIGHT in the big gym at 5:45.  Come out and support your Spartans.  
Senior Girls Volleyball Results
The senior girls volleyball team were just edged out by PCS last night in a marathon 5 set match. Thanks to the students and staff who came out to support the team.

CAREER CENTRE

ChatterHigh Competition Starts Today!
It's that time of year again Spartans! A new ChatterHigh competition has begun, so let's be sure to win it this time!  Go to www.chatterhigh.com daily and help the school earn money, plus you could win awesome prizes or better yet, donate your points to Free the Children!  See Mrs. Pryer in the Career Centre at lunch for more details!

Trades Exploration Program
Any students in Grade 10 - 12 who are interested in learning more about the trades, there are 4 seats left in the Trades Exploration Program offered here during the second semester.  Students must register before September 30th.  See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for more information and an application form.
