GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Fall Fair
Claremont's Fall Fair, in support of Tour de Rock, is taking place on WEDNESDAY. There will be 350 elementary and middle school students here during the afternoon for a special session of the fair. We ask that if you are not volunteering during the session, to please avoid the areas of the fair as they will be very busy and crowded. The fair will be open to the general public and all Claremont students immediately after school, until 8:00pm. There will be tons of things for you to do and play, including Hamster Balls, giant sling shots, an inflatable obstacle course, video games, a bbq concession and much more!
Game tickets will be sold on site, cash only. Unlimited access bracelets for the larger activities will be $10. So remember to bring cash with you to school on WEDNESDAY. There are lots of prizes to be won!
This going to be an awesome event, make sure you are a part of it! Tell everyone you know and be sure to bring your family and friends.
Bake Sale
There will be a bake sale TOMORROW at lunch outside the large gym. All proceeds go to Cops for Cancer.
Head Shaving Fundraiser
The head shaving fund-raiser for Tour de Rock is on, and the block 2 fund-raising competition continues all week. Bring donations to your block 2 teacher.
Shave your flow for dough: Are YOU willing to shave your head in support of cancer research and to raise funds for the Tour de Rock riders? Please see Mr. Ohl or Mr. Quested if you'd like to get your name on the list. All the money you raise can be donated to your block 2 class.
Spartan Day
THURSDAY is Spartan Day! Wear RED and bring in your last Toonies for Terry in support of the Tour de Rock.
ATHLETIC LEADERSHIP
For all Athletic Leadership students, there is a mandatory lunch time meeting TODAY. Report to the big gym at the start of lunch for this brief but extremely important meeting.
There will be a ROCK PAPER SCISSORS TOURNAMENT at lunch TUESDAY.
Be there. It will be EPIC!!!!
INTERNATIONAL
For all International Students: If you have NOT given Brenda your passport yet, please do so NOW.
The deadline for the International Whistler trip is near! Seats are filling up quickly, so get your package in FAST. And the first PIZZA lunch for International Students is on TUESDAY October 1st.
ATHLETICS
Swim Club
Anyone interested in swimming for Claremont this year, should meet in the Small Gym on TUESDAY at lunch. Swimmers from any club are welcome to swim for the school team for the high school season. Regionals are Nov. 2nd and BC's are Nov. 15 & 16th.
Sr. Boys Volleyball
Congratulations to the Claremont Sr. Boys Volleyball Team who had 7 wins and one loss at the UBC 40 Team Invitational Tournament this past weekend. The Spartans went undefeated in pool play and playoffs until their 1/4 final match where they lost a close battle to the eventual winner. It was the Spartans only loss. They battled back to win the next two matches earning 5th place.
Spartans defeated teams in two straight sets from Prince George, Delta, Alberta, Nanaimo, Burnaby, White Rock and the Gulf Islands.
Upcoming this week; Claremont hosts Spectrum and Belmont on Wednesday night and they are competing in the VIU Tournament this Friday and Saturday in Nanaimo.
Senior Girls Volleyball
The senior girls volleyball team narrowly missed a top ten finish at the 36 team VIU tournament this weekend. They play Belmont tomorrow night at 6:00.
