GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Minute to Win It
Come check out the game show MINUTE TO WIN IT in the theatre at lunch on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY.  Be there at the start of lunch to get a seat.  Sign up with a partner in the lounge on Tuesday if you want to play.

Math Club Meeting
If you are in the Math Club or will be writing the COMC Math contest this Wednesday, you must go to a meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 133 or see Mr. Paananen some time today for more information.

Psychology 150 course
If you are registered in a Psychology 12 class in Semester 2, or you are currently taking Psychology 12 in Semester 1, you need to come to an important meeting in room 312 on TUESDAY at lunch.  The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the semester 2 offering of the Camosun course:  Psychology 150. Please see Mr. Earnshaw or Mrs. Heppell if you are unable to attend the meeting.  See you there!

Homeroom Lists Posted
Homeroom lists have been posted in the horseshoe. Make sure you know where your homeroom is in preparation for report card distribution next week.

Photo Retakes
For all students who had photo retakes done, the photos and student ID cards are in the office TODAY for you to pick up.  Please come by between classes or after school.  These are NOT the grad photos; these are the student photo retakes.

ATHLETICS

Senior Girls Volleyball place Second in Lower Islands
The Senior Girls Volleyball Team finished in second place at the lower island championships over the weekend.  They compete in the city championships, starting this TUESDAY, in our big gym at 6:00 vs. St. Michaels.  Hope to see you there.

Swim Team
The Claremont Swim Team put in an inspired performance at the Island Championships this weekend, qualifying all 19 members to compete at the Provincial Championships in Richmond on November 15-16th.  Highlights included; 3 Gold Medals won by Danica Ludlow, and Double Golds by; Peter Inches, Finn Page, Phillippe-Andre Vellacott, Andreas Sinats, Sarah Darcell, Sarah Mabee-Hall, Kate Smith, and Ankit Jayant.  The team rallied to take Second Place on the Island for overall points.

Senior  Boys Volleyball
After two long days of tournament play, the Sr. Boys Volleyball Team placed 4th in the Towee Invitation at G.P Vanier in Courtenay.  In the cross over match, Claremont defeated Burnaby South and in the 1/4 final they defeated NDSS (Nanaimo).  Claremont defeated both teams in two straight sets. The Spartans lost a tight semi-final match to Reynolds 23-25, and 28-30. In the bronze medal match, the Spartans lost 22-25, and 23-25 to Dover Bay (Nanaimo).  Both teams are ranked in the top 12 in the province.
Claremont hosts the first round of the Lower Island Championships TONIGHT at 6pm. Come out and support your Spartans as they battle against the Stellys Stingers in the best of five sets match.

Cross Country
Claremont's boys cross country team persevered through a torrential downpour and 250 of the province's best runners to finish 6th overall at the Provincial Championships in Aldergrove this past weekend. The boys beat the odds and did so with Spartan class and humility. Congratulations to: Isaiah Brasset, Angus Brown,  Conrad Inch,  Nolan Fitzgerald,  Robert MacDonald,  Hamish Babin,  
Graeme Walker and Zac Christianson.

GRADUATION 2014

Grad Clothing
Attention Grads!  Grad Clothing order forms will be available for pick up TODAY and TOMORROW in the lounge at lunch.  Clothing order forms are due to be handed in to Ms. Marshall in the accounting office no later than Wednesday November 6th!

INTERNATIONAL

International Events
For International Students:  The last day to sign up for the Vancouver trip is this WEDNESDAY November 6th.  Also, there will be a pizza lunch for International Students TOMORROW in the Choir Room.
