GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Cops for Cancer
Cops for Cancer's 'Tour de Rock' will be visiting Claremont on THURSDAY Oct. 2nd. The school will be raising funds on Thursday through student and staff donations. Please bring a few dollars to put towards this worthy cause. You will have the ability to pledge money towards head shavings. If you missed Monday's meeting, any students or staff willing to shave their head in support of Cops for Cancer should see Mr. Ohl in the PE Office.
Student Government
The first Student Government meeting of the year is TODAY at lunch in the theatre. Everyone is welcome!
Key Club
Do you enjoy volunteering and meeting new people? Do you need volunteer hours for grad? Come join Key Club this THURSDAY at lunch in room 135 and see what we're all about!
Peer Tutoring
If you are interested in being a Peer Tutor this year please see Ms. Giese this WEDNESDAY at lunch in computer lab 225. We welcome tutors for any subject. Math, Science and English usually have the most requests. If you think you can spare a half an hour a week or more, we look forward to seeing you!
School Photos
School photos will be taken on FRIDAY October 3rd. All students in all grades need to have a photo taken for student records, whether or not you plan to purchase a photo package. Extra photo order forms are available in the office.
Former Royal Oak students
Grade 9 students only: If you attended Royal Oak Middle School last year, and you left items in your locker at the end of last year, all items are on the stage in the Multi-Purpose Room at ROMS. Please claim them or they will be given to charity.
Cafeteria & Spartan Store
The Leadership class is running pizza sales out of the cafeteria all this week at lunch time. The Spartan Store is also open at lunch for Spartan Wear and snacks.
Pursuit of Excellence
All Pursuit of Excellence students will have a meeting on WEDNESDAY October 1st from 3:00 to 4:00 in the Theatre. This is the first official event of the year and attendance is mandatory. Please check with Mrs. Marshall in the Pursuit of Excellence office ahead of time if you have a conflicting event.

ATHLETICS
Volleyball practice
The next practice for the senior girls volleyball team will be TONIGHT at 5:20 in the big gym.
Swim Team
Swim Team meeting will be WEDNESDAY October 1st at lunch in the small gym. First practice is Friday, Oct. 3rd at Commonwealth Pool. See Mrs. Harris in the PE office if you are unable to attend the meeting.
CAREER CENTRE
Canadian Universities Event
TOMORROW, October 1st, the Canadian Universities Event will be taking place at Parkland Secondary School from 8:30am - 10:00am. This is a great opportunity to meet with representatives from over 30 Canadian Universities! Any students interested in attending need to discuss it with their parents and teachers and arrange for their own means of transportation. For more information, please see Mrs. Pryer in the Career Centre.
