GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Blood Drive
Anyone interested in helping to promote the blood drive at Claremont, please come to a meeting THURSDAY at lunch in room 136.  Open to all grades. See Ms Chapman for more info.

Mandarin 12 Challenge exam
If you would like to register for the Mandarin 12 Challenge exam for November at SIDES, please see Ms. Giese this week.  The deadline for applications is Oct. 15.

Peer Tutoring
The Peer Tutoring Club is having another meeting TODAY at the start of lunch in computer lab 225. If you haven't joined yet, this is your chance!  Please see Ms. Giese in the counselling office if you are unable to attend but would like to join.  This is a great opportunity to gain volunteer hours and add to your resume.

Gay-Straight Alliance meeting
The Gay-Straight Alliance's Open House meeting is this THURSDAY at lunch in room 320.  Everyone is welcome!

Piano Players
Attention Piano players!  If you play piano and want to provide accompaniment for either choir or musical theater, please find Mrs. English in the music classrooms this week!

New York City – Spring Break
For any student interested in going to New York City at Spring Break, there will be a meeting on FRIDAY at lunch in the theatre. Students who attended last week, please come again.

Studio 63 is Offering FREE Haircuts!
Did you know that our school district has it's own teaching hair salon called Studio 63?! They are offering FREE haircuts and styles for the month of October by their skilled hair design students. Call 250-652-5381 to book an appointment or just stop by the ILC in Saanichton.

Pender Island Fire Cadet Camp
Are you interested in fire fighting or looking for an incredible experience?  Pender Island's Fire Rescue is offering a Fire Cadet Camp during Spring Break for students ages 15-18. There is an information session on October 9th and the deadline for applications is October 15th. See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for more details on this great opportunity.

GRADUATION 2014
Grad Portraits
Grads:  Have you booked your photo shoot yet for your grad portrait?  Lifetouch will be at Claremont with their portable studio starting October 14th.  You need to book your appointment ON-LINE by going to Lifetouch's website www.lifetouch.ca/victoria.  Don't put this off, or they will run out of appointment times.  Please make sure you pick up an information package from the office.

All Night Dry Grad
All parents are invited to attend the first All Night Dry Grad meeting this TUESDAY, October 14th.  Please join the All Night Dry Grad committee at 7:00 pm in the Learning Commons.  The committee is looking for all kinds of volunteers to make the All Night Dry Grad a success. Parents of all grades are welcome.

Thrifty Smile Cards
You can help support the All Night Dry Grad by loading up on groceries at Thrifty Foods.  Cards can be picked up in the office.  Parents from all grades or family and friends can use these.
