Recently, Claremont science students released salmon into the Colquitz river at the south end of Beaver lake. Through the leadership and guidance of Mrs. Cote, the Claremont science department has participated in the Vancouver Island Salmon Enhancement Program for the past several years. Mrs. Cote instructed Claremont students on how to test the river's pH level, oxygen content, turbidity and nutrient levels to ensure the conditions were ideal for release. What a great educational experience!
