GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Youth for Change and Inclusion
TODAY is the first official meeting of the Youth for Change and Inclusion group.  We work toward positive change and social justice in the school and in the community.  Meetings are in room 320 upstairs, (that's Ms G-C's room,) at lunch.  All students are welcome

Scholarship Meeting
Grade 12's -  Come to this year's first Scholarship meeting TODAY at lunch in room 324!  Last year's grads received over $300,000 worth of scholarships and every single grad who applied for one received a minimum of $1000!! Come and sign up for email notifications about the thousands of dollars just waiting to be given out throughout the year...hope to see you there!!

Student Government
It's not too late to join Student Government.  Please come to a lunch meeting in the theatre.  We meet every TUESDAY at lunch and everyone is welcome.  See Mr. Plant or Ms. McAvoy for details.

Peer Tutors
If you are interested in being a Peer Tutor this year, please meet Ms. Giese in Computer Lab 225 at the start of lunch this WEDNESDAY.  All subjects welcome, particularly Math, Science and English!

Best Buddies
If you missed the Best Buddies meeting at lunch on Thursday and are interested in joining the group, please see Mrs. Stetson in room 216 as soon as possible.  We will begin Buddy meetings next week.

BC Transit Youth Bus Passes
If you applied for a BC Transit Youth Bus Pass, they have arrived!  Please come to the office to pick them up.

School Forms
Please remember to return all of the school forms that were handed out in House Block last week.

Grade 9 Immunizations
All grade 9 students should have received an immunization form at the start of the school year. Please return these completed forms to the office as soon as possible.  If you did not receive one, please come to the office  to pick one up.

Spring Break 2016 – London, England
There will be a student information session for a proposed Spring Break 2016 trip to London, England at lunch in the theatre on FRIDAY.  Everyone welcome. There will also be a parent meeting at 5:30pm on FRIDAY.  See Mr. Plant for more details.

Re/Max Bursary Program
RE/MAX of Western Canada has a Quest for Excellence bursary program offering (16) $1,000 bursaries for a total of $16,000 to grade 12 students.  This program recognizes the success and ongoing pursuits of Western Canadian students in regards to leadership and community contribution initiatives. 2016 Quest for Excellence program is open for submissions from September 14, 2015 until midnight March 14, 2016. Only online entries will be accepted.  Students can enter online at www.remax.ca > about RE/MAX > In the Community > Quest for Excellence.  Only online entries accepted.

CAREER CENTRE
Canadian Universities Event
Are you interested in attending the Canadian Universities Event at Stelly's on Sept 29 from 1:30-3pm? Claremont will be bussing students to Stellys to see 45 Universities from across Canada. They will set up information booths and are available to answer questions. Counsellors will be visiting Block 5 Grade 12 classes today to hand out Field Trip forms or, if you are interested, you can pick one up from the Career Centre. Due date to hand in forms is this Thursday Sept. 24 in the Career Centre. What a great opportunity!

Volunteer Opportunities
Do you need volunteer hours? Volunteer Victoria has posted several volunteer opportunities including the Therapeutic Riding Association, the Alzheimer Society of BC, the Conversation Partner Program, and more!  Visit the Career Centre for more details!

Acadia University
Interested in attending university in Eastern Canada?  Come to the student lounge at lunch on FRIDAY, September 25, to see an Acadia University enrolment advisor. There will be on-the-spot application forms available, and the application fee will be waived.

Job Opportunity
There is a part-time receptionist position available immediately at Campus Auto Group.  It is a Saturday shift at the Infiniti store (8:30am – 6:00pm) and a Thursday evening shift (Thursday, 3:30 or 4-7) at the Nissan store.
