GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Cops 4 Cancer Fundraising
Our first House competition continues this week in Block 4 classes. Please donate $4 in support of Cops 4 Cancer. Fundraising will end on October 1, which is our first SPARTAN DAY!  Wear your House Colours, bracelets, and join in on the Spirit events.

50/50 Tickets!
Want to donate to Cops 4 Cancer AND possibly win a Claremont card loaded with money to spend at the cafeteria or Spartan Store?  You should purchase some 50/50 tickets!  Ms. Paas's Biology 12 class will be selling tickets during the lunch hour in the halls and in room 200.  Tickets are $1 each or 3 for $2.  P.S: Cancer sux.

Pursuit of Excellence All Grades Meeting
The first Pursuit of Excellence All Grades Meeting is on TODAY at lunch in the Learning Commons.  It is a mandatory meeting for all PEP students.

Math Club Meeting
If you are interested in writing math contests, challenging yourself with mathematical problems, or are just interested in math, there will be a Math Club meeting TODAY at lunch in Room 133.  See Mr. Paananen for more information.

BC Transit Youth Bus Passes
If you applied for a BC Transit Youth Bus Pass, they have arrived!  Please come to the office to pick them up. They are in effect starting this Thursday Oct. 1st.

STUDENT GOVERNMENT
Student Government Elections
The election campaign for your Student Government president is in full swing.  Elections will take place this WEDNESDAY, at which time students will have the opportunity to hear campaign speeches and vote.

ATHLETICS
Jr. Boys Volleyball Team Undefeated in Week #1 of the League Season
The Jr. Boys Volleyball team opened the season by hosting Vic. High And Stelly's this past Thursday.  The Spartans went undefeated winning 25-7, 25-13 over Stellys and 25-8, 25-19 over Vic. High.  Claremont will be competing against Reynolds and Royal Bay this Thursday @ Royal Bay.

CAREER CENTRE
Apprenticeship in the TRADES
Any students interested in an Apprenticeship in the TRADES, see Mr. Arsenault in the Career office as soon as possible!

Women In Construction
Join Women in Construction for a night of discussion next WEDNESDAY Sept 30th 6:00 - 8:30 pm with Kate Braid,  one of the first qualified women carpenters in British Columbia; the first woman to join the Vancouver local of the Carpenter's Union; the first to teach construction full-time at BCIT; and one of the first women to run her own construction company.  There is no charge for those attending this event, but registration is required at wic@vicabc.ca.  See Mrs. Rhodes in the Career Centre for more information.
