GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT

Ski Bus Passes to Mount Washington are available to win with ChatterHigh prize draws! 2 draws every Friday!  Get on to your ChatterHigh account and learn about Post Secondary opportunities while earning points to enter the draws!  Good luck!

Warm Clothing Drive
FRIDAY is the last day to bring in gently used warm clothes for cold people. The donation box is near the front office; Youth for Change and Inclusion will distribute the clothes next week.

Night of Dance
The Night of Dance performances will be next week on WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY (Jan 13/14) starting at 7pm.  Tickets are on sale through the dance teachers in the dance studio. $5 for Claremont students, $10 for all others.

Music Department - Winter Cafe & Silent Auction
The Claremont Music Department will be hosting the Winter Cafe on TUESDAY night, January 12th, in the Learning Commons from 7:00-9:00 pm. Come enjoy a great selection of musical performances from students. There will also be many silent auction items to be won! Admission is by donation.
There is an Open Call for Performers: The Winter Cafe is open to all Claremont students, not only band and choir students. Interested performers are asked to sign up on the band room door as soon as possible.

Calzones Are Back – Fundraiser for the Stagecraft program
Next WEDNESDAY (Jan.13th) mouth-watering pizza Calzones are back.  For $5 you get a calzone (a small pizza folded in half, filled with delicious toppings).  They will be for sale outside the gym doors by the lounge.  There are limited quantities so come early.  Several types available (veggie, cheese, Hawaiian, pepperoni, meat-lovers). 

Best Buddies
Best Buddies next MONDAY is a Peer Buddies ONLY meeting.  Please be sure to be there.

Peer Tutoring
Just a reminder that Peer Tutors are available on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS at lunch in the Learning Commons until exam week. They are happy to help you study!

Job Opportunity
The Vancouver Island Regional Library (VIRL) is seeking a part time Library Page employee to work at the Sidney/North Saanich Library. The successful candidate will be an outgoing individual who takes pride in organization and accuracy. Duties include shelving materials and routine library tasks.  Schedule: Monday 4:15-8:15 pm, Thursday 4:15-8:15 pm, Friday 3:15-5:15 pm.   Rate of pay: $10.45 per hour

Volunteer Opportunities
Big Brothers & Big Sisters of Victoria seeks volunteer mentors, (aged 15+), to serve as role models and teach by example the importance of giving and giving back, staying in school, and respecting family, peers and community.
Habitat for Humanity is a housing organization working to eliminate poverty and make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Help as part of a team to build new housing for those in need.

Grad Portrait Retakes
Grads:  If you missed having your grad portraits taken in October, or if you need retakes, the Lifetouch portable photo studio is returning to Claremont for two days only next week:  THURSDAY & FRIDAY (Jan. 14/15). This will be your last chance to have a grad photo in the school yearbook.  Appointments can be booked online at:  lifetouch.ca/victoria
