Best Buddies meeting TODAY is a Peer Buddies ONLY meeting.  Please be sure to be there.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Night of Dance
The Night of Dance performances will be this WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY (Jan 13/14) starting at 7pm.  Tickets will be sold at the ticket booth (in front of the theatre) during lunch. $5 for Claremont students, $10 for all others.

Music Department - Winter Cafe & Silent Auction
The Claremont Music Department will be hosting the Winter Cafe on TUESDAY night, January 12th, in the Learning Commons from 7:00-9:00 pm. Come enjoy a great selection of musical performances from students. There will also be many silent auction items to be won! Admission is by donation.

Calzones Are Back – Fundraiser for the Stagecraft program
This WEDNESDAY (Jan.13th) mouth-watering pizza Calzones are back.  For $5 you get a calzone (a small pizza folded in half, filled with delicious toppings).  They will be for sale outside the gym doors by the lounge.  There are limited quantities so come early.  Several types available (veggie, cheese, Hawaiian, pepperoni, meat-lovers). 

Peer Tutoring
Just a reminder that Peer Tutors are available on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS at lunch in the Learning Commons until exam week. They are happy to help you study!

Courage To Come Back Awards – Call for Nominations
Do you know someone who has inspired you with their story of overcoming adversity or illness and having gone on to help others?  Recipients for the “Courage to Come Back Award” are selected in each of the following categories:
  -Addiction        -Medical
  -Mental Health    -Physical Rehabilitation
  -Social Adversity    -Youth
Submit your nomination online at couragetocomeback.ca before the deadline of Feb. 12th.

CAREER CENTRE
Volunteer Opportunities
BC Aviation Museum is looking for enthusiastic people to accompany visitors and explain exhibits as they tour the museum. Aviation knowledge is helpful, but not necessary: there’s plenty of opportunity to learn!
The Gardens at HCP- (Horticultural Centre of the Pacific) seeks volunteers to become part of their dynamic team. Be surrounded by beautiful gardens and friendly people. Experienced and inexperienced gardeners welcomed!
The Community Arts Council of Greater Victoria has many volunteer roles available including office support, gallery stewards, committee members and communications folk.

Grad Portrait Retakes
Grads:  If you missed having your grad portraits taken in October, or if you need retakes, the Lifetouch portable photo studio is returning to Claremont for two days only:  this THURSDAY & FRIDAY (Jan. 14/15). This will be your last chance to have a grad photo in the school yearbook.  Appointments can be booked online at:  lifetouch.ca/victoria

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Pizza Lunch
There is a very important Pizza lunch for all international students this TUESDAY in the big gym. There will be information about upcoming events, exams and a Farewell to all Semester 1 leaving students. Please make sure you attend!
