GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Revised Class Schedule Today
Classes end one hour early today.  The revised bell schedule is:
Block 2    9:00 - 10:07
Block 3  10:13 – 11:20
Lunch     11:20 – 12:06
Block 4   12:06 - 1:15
Block 5     1:21 - 2:28

Bake Sale - Friday
Best Buddies is having a Brownie sale on FRIDAY at lunch by the student lounge.  One looney buys you a delicious brownie in any of a variety of delicious flavours.   Come satisfy your inner chocoholic and support Best Buddies. 

Found – Cell Phone
A cell phone was found outside of the school on Monday.  Please come to the office to claim it.

Hangbags for Hope
The Key Club will be collecting any gently used handbags, scarves or jewelry outside the lounge at lunch every day this week. These items will then be sold at an event outside of school with 100% of proceeds going towards Neuroblastoma Pediatric Cancer Research and to affected families on the island. Neuroblastoma is the most common cancer in infants under the age of 1.

Learning Commons – Monthly Contest
For February's contest, you could win if you visit the Learning Commons and answer the following question:  "Which book do you LOVE - one that you could read over and over again?"

ATHLETICS
Badminton Tryouts
The first badminton tryout will be this FRIDAY, Feb 5 after school in the big gym. Please wear appropriate gym strip and bring your own racquet. See Ms. Pang if you can't make it.

Girls Rugby
All girls interested in playing rugby:  there will be a meeting TODAY at lunch in room 261 (the woodshop classroom).  No experience required.

Boys Rugby
All boys interested in playing rugby should make contact with Mr. Ohl in the PE Office, and attend the practice TODAY after school on the main field. Regular gym strip will be fine, although cleats will be an asset! No experience required and ALL welcome.

CAREER CENTRE
YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange Program
The YMCA Summer Work Student Exchange is a national program offering opportunities for youth to improve their second official language skills, while gaining important employment experience!  Open to students aged 16-17 with basic ability in either French or ESL.  The 6-week cultural immersion exchange starts at the end of June.  You will be provided with a paid employment opportunity in your host community. **Note** this is a reciprocal exchange so your family will be required to also host a student. A nominal participation fee is required; all other costs and activities will be covered by the program.  Lots more information and brochures in the Career Centre!
