GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Krispy Kreme Donuts

Krispy Kreme Donuts will be on sale TODAY at lunch in the lounge.  $10 a dozen, $1 each.  This is a fundraiser for the Senior Girls Basketball.

Freezies
Freezies will be on sale TODAY at lunch.  This is a fundraiser for the Spring trip to France.

Grade 9 Immunizations
Reminder to grade 9 students to please return your immunization forms to the office.  If you did not receive a form in Home Room, there are a few extras in the office.

After School Pickups
When picking up students after school, a number of parents have been waiting on Strangcrest Road, right across the street from the school.  Strangcrest is a very small cul-de-sac, and having so many parked cars have become a problem, blocking our neighbours' driveways.  Please respect our neighbours on this road and plan for pickups in a different location, a short walk away. 

Europe in Spring 2017
All students going to Europe in April for the 100th Anniversary of  Vimy Ridge: meet TODAY at lunch in room 327.  If you are interested in this trip, there are 3 spots left. Come to the meeting and see Mr Gardner.

New York Spring Break Trip
For students interested in a school Arts trip to NYC at Spring Break 2017, there will be another meeting TODAY at lunch in the theatre .  See Mr. Plant for more details.

CLUB OPPORTUNITIES
YCI
Youth for Change and Inclusion is a group of socially conscious people looking to do positive projects in the school and the community.  We're having our first open-house meeting on MONDAY at lunch in room 320.  Hope to see you there!

Math Club
If you are interested in writing Math contests this year (which look great on scholarship applications), or if you just enjoy puzzles and problems, you are invited to attend the first Math Club meeting of the year on MONDAY at lunch.  This year, grade 9s will meet with Mr Paananen in room 133, and grades 10-12 will meet with Mr. Skanks in room 130.  We will meet most MONDAYS, and membership is open.  New people are always welcome.  Hope to see you next week.

ATHLETICS
Cross Country

It's not too late to join Claremont's cross country team.  Come to an important meeting TODAY at lunch  in Mr. Nelson's room (137) for more info.

Field Hockey Club
Field Hockey club meets TODAY at lunch in the small gym at lunch. New players are welcome. Participants must pick up permission forms and confirm that this Monday is the best day for our first after school practice session.  

CAREER CENTRE
Job Opportunity

The First Unitarian Church, located across from the Red Barn Market on West Saanich Road, is looking to hire 2 students to help with childminding  on Sunday mornings 10:15 - 12:15 plus other occasions.  $12.00 per hour. You will always work with another childminder to supervise children ages 1-4 years in free play (no religious content). Adult support is always close by. Work Experience Credit
Work Experience registration deadline is September 30th!  Any student wishing to get work experience credits for this year, please see Mr. Arsenault in room #131 (the temporary Career Centre) BEFORE Sept. 30th.

International Students can pick up their passports TODAY right after school in the IGS room # 264.

Pizza Lunch
The first Pizza Lunch for International Students is on TUESDAY, Sept 20.  All International students are welcome.
