We discussed the power structure of Maycomb. Please print out the Powers that Be handout and organized the following characters on the scales: Atticus, the children (Jem and Scout), Calpurnia, Tom Robinson, Bob Ewell, Mayella Ewell, Dolphus Raymond, Heck Tate, and Mr. Gilmer.
We also went over the answers to the vocabulary and questions for chapters 19-22.
Homework:
Finish reading the novel and work on drafting your persuasive paragraph. Bring your draft to school on Monday if you want me to take a look at it. The topic of the paragraph is: To what degree is the false accusation Mayella's fault?
