School Photos
If you did not pick up your school photos and student cards in home room last week, they can be picked up in the office.

Math Contest Sign-Up
If you are interested in writing any of the Math Contests this year, any grade, you must go see Mr. Paananen in Room 133 to sign up by the end of this FRIDAY.

Cops For Cancer
TODAY is the big day!  The Tour de Rock riders are coming to visit Claremont at noon and we're doing our best to raise $11,000 for Cops for Cancer.  Thanks to the hard work of our Leadership 11/12 class students, who organized lots of fun things to raise funds for our Cops for Cancer visit!  Today we will have an altered bell schedule and a grade assembly, performance by the dance classes, the inaugural Claremont Climb race from Cordova Bay,  as well as STAFF head-shavings and leg-waxings.  
FRIDAY:  Minion Day!  Grade 12s will be making lunches and serving their "GRU".
In the Block 2 fund-raising challenge, presently,  Mr Ohl's class is in the lead, Ms Tong's class is second, and Ms  Linger's class is third.   TODAY is the last day for Block 2 donations.  If you have a block 2 study block, there is a donation box in the office!

ATHLETICS
Senior Boys Volleyball Results

Congratulations to the Sr. Boys Volleyball team who went undefeated Wednesday night in league play.  The Spartans defeated Spectrum 25-17, 25-08, St. Michaels 25-15, 25-9, and defeated last year's Island Champions, Royal Bay 25-21, 25-18. Big blocks, good defense and tough serving was their recipe for success. The Sr. Boys will compete this Friday and Saturday at the VIU Tournament in Nanaimo.  GO SPARTANS!

Senior Girls Volleyball Results
The senior girls volleyball team lost two tough matches last night in the big gym.  The girls would like to thank all of the staff and students that made the effort to cheer on the team.  The Spartans play again this weekend in the Camosun Tournament.  We hope to see you there.

Volunteer Opportunity
The Cordova Bay Elementary School is looking for volunteers to help out at their Halloween Hoot and Howl fun night on Friday, October 28th, from 6:00-9:00 pm.  Volunteers are needed to run game stations like the Bean Bag Toss, and Go Fishing, or face painting!  They are also hoping a team of students could also create a Haunted House for the little ones!  Please visit the Career Centre for the contact info if you would like to help out.  Boo!
