Trades Explorations Program

Would the following students who have signed up for the TEX program please meet with Mr. Arsenault TODAY at lunch in room 134: Brett Anderson, Coleton Bradley, Brett Carson, Jay Creasey, Sebastien Guillemette, Caleb Nordstrom, and Ken Yamasawa. Room 134 - bring your lunch.

School Photos

If you did not pick up your school photos and student cards in home room last week, they can be picked up in the office.

Math Contest Sign-Up
If you are interested in writing any of the Math Contests this year, any grade, you must go see Mr. Paananen in Room 133 to sign up by the end of TODAY.

Cops For Cancer
Thanks everyone for your support of Tour de Rock, Cops for Cancer.  The school did a great job raising funds and showing community spirit. 
Here is the final update on our Block 2 fund-raising contest:  Congratulations to Mr. Ohl's SS9 class for winning this challenge by raising the most money to support Cops for Cancer.  We will be serving root beer floats to Mr. Ohl's class on TUESDAY at lunch in the theatre!!!  

Cops for Cancer – Ponytail Donations / Shaved Heads
All students who donated a ponytail or shaved their heads to donate to Cops for Cancer, please meet TODAY at the start of lunch in the office for a very brief meeting and photo.

Sr. Boys Volleyball Results

Congratulations to the Sr. Boys Volleyball team who went undefeated Wednesday night in league play.  The Spartans defeated Spectrum 25-17, 25-08, St. Michaels 25-15, 25-9, and defeated last years Island Champions, Royal Bay 25-21, 25-18. Big blocks, good defense and tough serving was their recipe for success. The Sr. Boys will compete today and Saturday at the VIU Tournament in Nanaimo.  GO SPARTANS!

Those students who have signed up for Fire Cadet Camp, please bring your completed application forms to the Career Centre as soon as possible!

Volunteer Opportunities – Halloween Fun
There are three Halloween fun events looking for student volunteers to help with set-up, running games distributing food, face-painting, haunted walk tours and more:
Lochside Elementary's Halloween Party is on Thursday, October 20th from 4-8 pm.
Royal Oak Middle School's Screamfest is happening Thursday and Friday, October 27-28, from 6-9 pm.
Cordova Bay Elementary School's Halloween Hoot and Howl fun night is on Friday, October 28th, from  6:00-9:00 pm.

Job Opportunities
