Breakfast Club
The Breakfast Club is hoping to start up soon, selling affordable bagels, spreads and hot beverages on Tuesday and Thursday mornings before block 1. For the program to happen, they need parent volunteers, and a few student volunteers. If you can help, please email Gillian England: gmengland@shaw.ca.
October PAC Meeting
The next Claremont PAC Meeting is TUESDAY Oct 18 @ 7:00 p.m. in the Learning Commons Principal Peter Westhaver is looking forward in meeting as many parents as possible at this meeting. He is also seeking parent support to take on a role with the PAC Executive. Currently all positions are open, with the exception of Treasurer (thank you Lynda Mason). Please make note of the agenda below.

CLUB OPPORTUNITIES
Claremont Improv Club
Are you interested in trying improvised theatre for the first time or honing your mad performance skills? Come check out the Claremont Improv Club. Our first official meeting will be TODAY at lunch in room 201. After that, we will practice each MONDAY from 3:30-5:00 in the choir room, starting Monday Oct 17th. See Ms Cameron in room 201 for more information.

Swim Club
There will be an important Swim Club meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym. Please bring your forms.
Jr. Boys "B" Volleyball
The Claremont Jr. Boys "B" Volleyball Team went undefeated yesterday in league play. The "B" Spartans defeated Mt Doug`s "A" team 25-17, 25-09 and Belmont's "A" team 25-12, 25-15. The entire team contributed to these victories. Great serving, good free-ball passing and some big spikes were highlights of the night. MVP goes to Sawyer Shortt for his consistency and defensive play.
Basketball Tryouts
Senior and Junior Girls : Tryouts will begin soon.
Junior Boys: tryouts continue SUNDAY from 4:30-6:30.
Senior Boys: tryouts continue SUNDAY from 6:30-8:00.
It is very important to attend these tryouts if you want to be selected for these teams. Please communicate with the coaches or Mr. Reisig if there is a conflict Assuming numbers permit, there may be 'B' or possibly gr 9 teams at the Jr level.
CAREER CENTRE
Soldier For A Day
Have you ever wondered what it might be like to be a part of the Canadian Armed Forces? Soldier For A Day is an event on Saturday November 5th that gives you a chance to get an inside look at all aspects of basic military concepts such as drill and dress, military equipment, weapons, vehicles, training equipment, and military rations. Applications must be submitted by October 29th. More information and application forms are available from the Career Centre.
