Music Winter Cafe
Claremont's Annual Music Winter Cafe is coming next WEDNESDAY December 13th in the Learning Commons at 6pm.  Anyone interested in performing: come see Mrs. English this week.

A Midsummer Night's Dream – Opens This Week
Claremont Secondary's Block 3 Year-Long Drama class presents this modern take on William Shakespeare's classic comedy, “A Midsummer Night's Dream.”. Set in a children's playground and based on characters you would find in a school, this classic comedy has been adapted and edited to make it even more accessible for modern audiences, while keeping the vast majority of Shakespeare's beautiful language.  Featuring a cast of 25 students in grades 9-12, this production is being performed on Dec 7-9 and Dec 13-16 nightly at 7:30pm. It's Cold Season
Please be mindful that during cold season it is important to get plenty of rest, eat healthy foods, and wash your hands often.  Situated throughout the school are hand sanitizer stations; please take advantage of these stations and keep your hands clean. 

Toys 4 Teens
The 5th annual Toys 4 Teens Donation Drive is underway, running every day until December 12. Please donate $10 gift cards for Teens in Need in your Block 2 class. A few ideas include gift cards for: music, books, coffee shops, movies, clothing, sporting goods, cosmetics, etc.  There are lots of good ideas out there! The winning class will attend the wrap-up event at Mayfair Mall on Dec. 15. Our school goal is 1000 gift cards. This event is in collaboration with the Zone's Annual Toy Drive.  Go Spartans!

CLUBS
Key Club – Let's Get Festive!!

If you would like your locker (or your friend's locker) Xmas wrapped, head over to the Key Club table this week to place your order: the table will be set up WEDNESDAY- FRIDAY at lunch in the lounge. Lockers are $2.

VEX Robotics Meeting
VEX Robotics Club has a meeting on WEDNESDAY at lunch.  All members must attend.

ATHLETICS
Basketball - Go Spartans!

Senior Girls kept their winning ways last night with a last-second bucket by Sierra Reisig to defeat the TOTANS  from Ottawa 73-72. Sierra had 26 and newcomer Marin Abe had 19 to lead the girls. Great support in the stands by the Spartan Nation as well. First league game is TONIGHT at Parkland at 5:45.

Junior Girls: congrats in winning the opening tourney of the year this past weekend. They have their first league game TODAY at Mt Doug.
Senior Boys are at SMU for a 7:00 pm tip-off TONIGHT.

Junior Girls "B" Basketball
Junior Girls "B" Basketball team: there is a meeting on WEDNESDAY at lunch in the small gym, to arrange rides to our 4:15 pm game at Spectrum.

You will learn all about credit cards, pre-paid cards and loans, the advantages and disadvantages, what to look for and how to calculate the “real” cost of a loan. Grad Transition
Grade 12s:  give yourself the gift of a completed Grad Transition!!!  Congratulations to the almost 40 students who have already submitted their GT!!   Pick up you GT forms from the Career Centre and get it done!  Graduation Transition is a Grad Requirement.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
Travel Applications

For all International students: Overnight and Day Travel applications are due WEDNESDAY December 13th.  Please  hand them into Brenda

Peninsula Youth Health Clinic – New Hours

Important: Hours have changed - The Peninsula Youth Health Clinic is now open every Thursday from 5-7pm. Walk in's are welcome, but if you are interested in booking an appointment or would like more info, call the clinic at 250-656-4114.  Location: at the Ocean Pier Medical Clinic, (#207-2537 Beacon Avenue in Sidney)   This clinic offers completely free and confidential service in the areas of physical, sexual, and mental health for youth.  This Youth Clinic offers a judgement-free zone for all youth and is an LGBTQ safe space.
