Lost

A Daniel Wellington wrist watch has been lost.  It has a black strap, and a traditional analog white face (with hands). If you have found this watch, please help out your fellow student and bring it to the office.

ATHLETICS
Jr Girls Basketball

Anyone interested in playing Junior Girls Basketball this year:  the last tryout is TONIGHT at 7:15 pm in the big gym. See Ms. Robertson if you have any questions.

Jr Girls Volleyball
Congratulations to the Claremont Junior Girls Volleyball team, who defeated PCS 25-9, 25-15 in the Island Championship final this weekend AND earned a berth to the Provincial Championships later this month. Congratulations to Payton Henderson, who was named team MVP of the tournament. Go Spartans!

Jr. Boys Volleyball
After a strong first day of pool play at Island Championships, the boys came up short in the semi finals against a red-hot Oak Bay team. Despite missing some key players, the Spartans still played hard and kept the games close, but could not pull off a win. The Spartans met Reynolds (their biggest rivals of the season) for the bronze medal game, beating them in three sets to take 3rd place and add a plaque to the school's trophy cabinet.  Go Spartans!

Job/Mentoring Opportunity

A retiree living in North Saanich is looking for weekend help with outdoor garden work: resetting patio paving stones, spreading bark mulch & general garden maintenance. 6 to 8 hours daily Saturdays and Sundays for 1-3 months or until the job is complete @ 15.00 to $20.00 an hour. Some heavy lifting required. Help with transportation available if required.  Visit the Career Centre for more info!

Encounters With Canada: Time Limited Offer
Encounters With Canada is offering an amazing opportunity for it's upcoming Sports & Fitness week - Nov. 18-24.  Remaining seats are being offered on a first come first served basis; there is a rebate of $75 off the regular cost of the trip to Ottawa. Travel to and from Ottawa is paid for! Your adventure may include wall climbing, martial arts, Kin-Ball, Ultimate Frisbee, fitness boot camp and more!  Participate in a guided tour of the city and a visit to Parliament. PSIBC Event – Nov. 15
The Post Secondary Institutions of BC event is happening at Stelly's Secondary School THIS THURSDAY, November 15th from 6:00-8:00 pm. Students and parents are invited to come meet Post Secondary Institution representatives from all over BC in one place: UNBC, JIBC, FDU, BCIT, SFU, TWU, TRU, Camosun, Quest, CapU, UVic, VIU, CAF-RMC and more! Parents As Career Coaches
COPACS and the Saanich School District proudly invite you to attend a free seminar for parents: THIS THURSDAY, November 15 @ 6:30 pm at Stelly's Secondary School.  Capilano University instructor, Marion Haythorne, will be leading the workshop helping parents learn how to help their children make sound educational decisions and career choices.

District Hairdressing Program
Any students interested in the dual credit Cosmo/Hairdressing Program, offered by SD#63 in partnership with Vancouver Island University, please see Mr. Arsenault  in the Career Centre to sign up for the Feb. 2019 start!

Soldier For A Day- Work/Study Program
The BC Army Reserve is hosting a Soldier for a Day program on SATURDAY, November 17th.  This program is an introduction to the role of the BC Army Reserve both here in your home community, across Canada and even around the world. It’s also worth 6 1/2 hours of work experience. Don’t wait too long to sign up, as spaces are filling up fast!

For students in grades 10 to 12:  the BC Army Reserve is also hosting a full time SUMMER employment program; this includes leadership training, paid community service, plus up to $8000 of educational reimbursement funding.  See Mr. Arsenault in the Career Centre for more information on both of these opportunities.

GRAD 2019
Grad Wear

This is the final week to order 2019 Grad Wear!  Clothing order forms are available at the main office or the accounting office.  Forms and payment are to be returned to the Accounting office – deadline is this Friday Nov. 16.

Grad Transition
Reminder to grads that GT is a graduation requirement.  Pick up your forms from the Career Centre and interview with your favourite teacher!

Students going to Vancouver THIS THURSDAY November 15 – you need to be at the ferry terminal by 6:20 a.m.

Peninsula Youth Clinic

The Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney and is open every THURSDAY from 5:30 - 7:30pm with both a doctor and mental health clinician on hand.
