GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

School Forms – Return to the Accounting Office

Reminder to please return all of your school forms and fee payments by the end of TODAY (student demographics, locker selection, Google Accounts. All forms, cheques and cash are to be returned to the ACCOUNTING OFFICE. 


Timetables and Course Changes

All requests for course changes must be submitted to the office on a Course Change Request Form. These can be picked up in the Learning Commons and must be submitted to the office before the end of TODAY. 


Counsellor Appointments

Counsellors will not be available for booking individual appointments until Monday September 16th as they will be dealing with urgent scheduling situations as required. If a counsellor needs to see you regarding changes to your courses, they will locate you. Only course changes submitted on a Course Change Request Form will be considered. Please do not send emails requesting changes. If you have an urgent situation, please come to the main office and we will make sure you are taken care of in a timely manner.


Lunch at the Cafeteria

Pizza will be for sale at the cafeteria TODAY ($2.50 per slice) and for the first few days of next week.  When the cafeteria class is up and running, lunchtime cafeteria will be available with a range of sandwiches, wraps, soups, salads, drinks, and sweets.


Cafeteria Punch Card

Cafeteria punch cards are available to purchase from the Accounting office for $5 or $10.  This is a great option if you find yourself out of cash or if the ATM is out of order at lunch time.


Student Parking

Starting next week, all students who are parking in the student parking lot need to be registered.  Permission forms will be in the office starting Monday Sept 9th.  To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.


CLUBS

Stay tuned for information about a wide range of clubs at Claremont.  There is something for everyone!!


Math Club

Claremont runs a weekly Math Club which supports a number of Canadian and International math contests that take place throughout the year.  The first meeting is MONDAY Sept 9 at lunch in room 130 – this will be an information session.  Talk to Mr. Skanks, or check out the two bulletin boards in the math wing if you can't make it.


Key Club

Earn service hours, meet new people and get free snacks with Key Club.  First meeting is THURSDAY Sept 12th at lunch in room 135. Come by to learn more.

GRAD 2020

Dry Grad 2020 Meeting – Sept 10

For all parents, caregivers, friends & family of the Class of 2020!!  Would you like to be involved in an amazing event for your graduate? The first Dry Grad 2020 meeting of the year is on Tuesday Sept 10th @ 7pm in the Learning Commons.  Last year's Dry Grad Committee will be there to discuss what's involved and how you can participate!  Everyone is welcome! We look forward to meeting you!


INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Camp Qwanoes – Applications due Sept 18

International Students:  Camp Qwanoes completed consent forms and payment must be submitted to Brenda, in the International office by September 18th.  This amazing trip will fill up fast! Don't delay.


COMMUNITY NEWS

Peninsula Youth Clinic 

For all youth aged 12-24: the Peninsula Youth Clinic is located at Peninsula Medical, 2a-2379 Bevan Avenue, Sidney (250-656-4143) and is open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health clinician is on hand. 

Walk-ins are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone. 

-any medical concern

-get prescriptions

-speak with a counsellor

-access to STI and pregnancy testing

-access to birth control
