Claremont Musical Theatre – The Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid opens next Thursday! Get your tickets from the Accounts office before we sell out (250-658-6672). Shows are: Feb 27-29 & March 5-7 @ 7pm, also Saturday matinees on Feb 29 & March 7 at 1:00 pm. Adults $16, and children/students/seniors $14.
Student Parking – Registration Required
Reminder to all students who are parking in the student parking lot: you must be registered to park there. Permission forms are in the office. To become registered, the office needs: a parent-signed registration form, a photocopy of your driver’s licence, a photocopy of your car insurance, and $2 for the parking pass.
PAC Fundraising – Country Grocer Receipts
Support the Claremont PAC with your Country Grocer Receipts! Funds go towards the Breakfast Program, Grad 2020 and other clubs within our school community. Receipts can be dropped off at the Claremont office. Thank you!

Sr Girls Soccer
For players interested in playing Senior Girls Soccer: there will be a meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym with Ms Yager.
Three of our BBall Teams Bound for Provincials!
A BIG congratulations goes out to all members of our Jr Girls, Jr Boys, and our Sr Girls basketball teams for their hard fought victories this past Saturday in their respective Island Championships at Brentwood College, Lambrick Park, and Belmont Secondary!
Both our Junior Girls and Junior Boys ended up placing 3rd on the Island: in their final games, our girls fought their way to a 10pt victory over a tough Port Alberni squad, while our Junior Boys earned a solid 15pt win over a depleted Dover Bay squad. Tournament all stars included Adia Pye, Olivia Boulding, and Isaiah Helman.
Our Senior Girls ended up “stealing the show” on Saturday, beating a tough Royal Bay squad with a fantastic come-from-behind victory after being down by as much as 19 points to take their first Island Title since 2014! Big time congrats goes to Reese Manns and Kamryn Allen on being named to the First All Star squad and Payton Henderson for being awarded the defensive MVP of the tournament!
Good luck to all three of these teams as they head to their respective Provincial Championships over the course of the next two weeks, and good luck to our Senior Boys Bball Team as they begin their Island Tournament this coming Thurs night in Nanaimo!

Technology Program
If you are currently in Grade 10 or 11, and you're interested in Technology Applications, consider applying for the Discover Technology Program! The program runs September 2020 to January 2021. Students attend one semester (full-time) at Camosun College Interurban Campus, learning about Computer Science, Electronics, Engineering, Math, and Physics. Secondary and post-secondary credit is earned via direct industry connection through work experience, site visits, and tours. Visit the Career Centre for more information. Applications due by March 1st.

Med School - April 2
The BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute is inviting Grade 10-12 students to attend Mini Med School 2020 at the Royal BC Museum, THURSDAY, April 2, 8:30-3:30. Mini Med School includes a diverse curriculum that highlights leading-edge medical research, explores a variety of careers in health sciences, and offers the opportunity to participate in hand-on science. Women in Trades Exploration Day - Feb 26
Camosun College is hosting a ‘Women in Trades Exploration Day’. This fun, hands-on day introduces students to trades in electrical, carpentry, sheet metal, and automotive... as well as tech fields like civil & mechanical engineering, electronics, and computer science. Sign up now in the Career Centre to spend a day exploring trades and tech opportunities. The event is on WEDNESDAY Feb 26, 9:30-2:00 @ Camosun College Interurban Campus.
Train
to be an Umpire!
If you have played baseball or softball and wish to try umpiring, the Peninsula Baseball and Softball Organization is offering training clinics for umpiring in late February and in March. Pre-registration is required. There will be a Level 1 Baseball Clinic held at Parkland Secondary School in the evenings of Feb 24, 26 and 27. After training, umpiring positions are paid depending upon the age level game that is being umpired. Come to the Career Centre for more information.

open EVERY THURSDAY from 5:30 – 7:30pm, providing services for
mental, physical, and sexual health. A doctor and mental health
clinician is on hand. Walk-ins
are welcome! Services are completely free and confidential in their
judgement free zone.
