GRAD 2020

Congratulations Grads!

The Claremont staff are incredibly proud of our graduating class of 2020. You are amazing ambassadors of Claremont, and you have risen above unique challenges and obstacles to arrive at your graduation day. You are the class that will be remembered for many years to come, as the class who demonstrated tremendous flexibility, adaptability, resilience , patience, courage, and determination. You are definitely ready for your future and whatever path you blaze for yourselves. In the world ahead of you, please remember to create balance in your lives: amidst your world of future education or work, find time to do things that are fun, energize you, feed your soul, and bring you happiness. Congratulations Grads!!

A Message from the Dry Grad Chair

And we are done!!! Certainly not what we expected at the start of the year in September, but we persevered, controlled the controllables, we remained patient and optimistic.

Yesterday was absolutely wonderful for not only the graduates, but for everyone involved to make it happen. Together over the past 4 months we collaborated, adjusted, and worked cohesively as a group. From the staff of Claremont, to the Dry Grad Executive Committee, to the Saanich Police, and UVIC, we created something that no one will ever forget.

It allowed us to think outside the box, and with an ever changing situation, we knew it was going to be a challenge, but we knew that we were not going to end this school year without something happening for our graduates.

I was proud to be Dry Grad Chair this year and, yes, although it felt like a second full time job at times, I was so happy yesterday to have the opportunity to witness all the graduates be celebrated at the school and throughout the parade. “Under Promise and Over Deliver”.. with any project is a success.... and we did that. All the feedback from staff, Saanich Police, parents, graduates, volunteers has been nothing but positive, and we couldn’t have ordered a better day for weather.

So, congratulations to the graduates of 2020! Cheers to you all and wishing you nothing but success as you move on to this next chapter of your lives.

Sincerely,
Allison Dawson
Dry Grad Chair

Post-Secondary Institute Selections

Reminder to Grads, if you are moving onto a College or University in the Fall (Canada or USA), you MUST make sure you have created your BCeID account and submitted your PSI selection on the Ministry of Education website (this includes MOST Canadian and USA Post-Secondary Institutions). This is the way that your final OFFICIAL graduation transcript can be directly sent to your post-secondary institution in the middle of summer, when the final marks are uploaded with the Ministry of Education. Note: the transcripts from Claremont are year-end transcripts with final marks, but are not the OFFICIAL final transcript that PSI’s require. The link in on the Grad Page of the Claremont website, plus there is an excellent video with instructions on the Grad Page. Deadline to submit is July 10.
