Spartan Wear - Pick up TODAY at Lunch
If you ordered Spartan Wear hoodies, shirts or pants, the clothing orders will be handed out TODAY at lunch in the small gym.
Parent-Teacher Interviews: Thursday Dec.10
Reminder: Parent/Teacher Interview night is TOMORROW (Thursday), 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Parents/guardians can book an 8-minute phone appointment with teachers online through the link on our school website. This will also be an early dismissal day for students (2:15).

Toys for Teens: Dec 3-9
TODAY is the final day for the 8th annual "Toys For Teens Donation Drive." We are collecting $10 Gift Cards that Teens would like for: coffee shops, restaurants, music, grocery stores, drug stores, retail locations, bus passes, pre-paid credit cards, etc. Cash donations are also accepted. Students are encouraged to bring their donations to their Block 1 class (or the front office if they do not have a Block 1 class). Thank you for your support of this great cause and for sharing the Spartan Spirit. Happy Holidays!
After School Homework Club
Reminder: for all students who would like extra help in Math, English, Science or Social Studies: help from Education Assistants is available on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS 3:00-4:00 after school in room 235 (computer lab). All students in all grades are welcome. Please wear a mask.
NEW Claremont Masks For Sale
If students like the look and fit of the navy blue cloth masks they were issued at the start of the year, we now have the very same masks (same quality & design, made by Stormtech) with the Claremont Spartan logo for sale. They come in either black or navy. 2 for $15 at the Accounting office. These are great for students and parents!
Morning Breaktime Food Service
Reminder that the Spartan Store is open for breakfast and snack service 10:00-11:00 every morning, with reasonably-priced hot drinks and morning treats. Cash or lunch cards only.
Breakfast Club - Thursdays
Claremont’s Breakfast Club is every THURSDAY morning at the Spartan Store! This FREE breakfast will consist of a bagel, spread, and juice. Breakfast will be served from 8:20 - 9:00 every THURSDAY MORNING for the remainder of the school year.
ATHLETICS
Intramural Indoor Soccer
TODAY at lunch, the Junior teams play intramural indoor soccer in the gym. Be ready to start at 11:55 with proper footwear, strip and masks.
CLUBS
Robotics Club
Any grade 9 girls interested in joining the Robotics Club are asked to attend an information meeting on THURSDAY, December 10th at lunch in Room 133.
Math Club
Math Club members: Math League Contest #3 is now available for pickup outside room 133.
YCI: Winter Clothing/Backpack Drive
YCI’s donation drive ‘Home is Where the Heart Is’ continues with collecting necessary items to support people in need, due to homelessness and crisis. For the Backpack Drive, we are collecting backpacks plus:
*warm clothing (toques, mitts/gloves, scarfs, socks)
*hygiene products (shampoo, soap, body wash, lip balm, toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, tissue packs, feminine hygiene products, small makeup items)
*non-perishable snacks (granola bars, trail mix, raisins, beef jerky, candy, gum).
All donations will be packed by members of the Home is Where the Heart is Foundation and, in working with Our Place Society, the items will be distributed to people in need. Donation bins are at the front office. Collection runs until December 18. We have received some very helpful and thoughtful donations in the first half of the drive. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT.

There are so many virtual information sessions and events being offered by post-secondary institutions. The Saanich School District has a Careers page that is full of good information about various training and post-secondary opportunities. For the most current details about many virtual events being provided by universities and other post-secondary schools, make sure to visit the Saanich School District Career Education website, at https://careered.sd63.bc.ca/. This site is updated continually.

Student Transcript Service
Grade 12’s: Did you know that YOU can access your own transcripts from the Student Transcript Service website? You can view your transcript and/or send them to a Post-Secondary Institution of your choice, at any time. It is easy to make a BCeID account on the Student Transcript Service. Check out the information posters on the wall, just outside of the counselling office. http://www.StudentTranscripts.gov.bc.ca

Reminder that there are FREE, registered drop-in style programs for older teens at the Upside Teen Centre. Youth can pre-register online or in person!

Peninsula Youth Clinic
Peninsula Youth Clinic is operating through Telehealth on Thursday evenings 5:30 - 7:30pm Appointments with doctors or mental health workers are conducted by phone or video. Services are completely free and confidential in their judgement free zone for any medical concerns, to get prescriptions, or to speak with a counsellor. To make an appointment, call 250-656-4143.
Foundry Youth Clinic
Foundry Victoria Youth Clinic offers young people ages 12-24 health and wellness services, with doctors, mental health workers, and peer support workers. Foundry is open for virtual and on-site appointments. To make an appointment, call 250-383-3552. Phones are answered beginning at 10:30AM on weekdays to schedule appointments for the day.
