Grad Council Meeting
The location for the Grad Council meeting has been changed to the theatre TODAY at lunch. All grade 12's are welcome.
GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Join the Knitting Club!
The knitting club meets every THURSDAY at lunch in room 323. Beginners are welcome and experienced knitters are needed. This year, we are making a blanket for charity. Our goal - to knit 48 squares.
Take Our Kids to Work Day
Any grade 9 students who did not receive a consent form from Mr. Arsenault last week, but want to participate in Take Our Kids to Work Day, can pick one up in the Career Centre. Reminder that forms must be returned by TOMORROW: Thursday Oct. 29th!!
Peer Tuturing
Peer Tutoring drop-in sessions will now be held in the Learning Commons on TUESDAYS and WEDNESDAYS at lunch and not in room 134. Tuesdays: there is tutoring in Math and Science. Wednesdays: there is tutoring for Math, Science, English and Socials. Tutors look forward to working with you!
Key Club - UNICEF
Reminder to please donate any spare change from now until Halloween into the UNICEF boxes found in all your teachers' classrooms. Every little bit can add up to a lot to help children all over the world.

There are still many school bus passes in the office, needing to be picked up.

Students Government has fun activities planned this week to get us into the Halloween spirit!! Everyone is welcome to participate or come by to watch!

Junior Boys - TONIGHT 7:00-9:00 pm in main gym (possibly THURSDAY as well)
Senior Boys - TONIGHT 5:30-7:00 pm in main gym and THURSDAY from 7:00-9:00 pm
Senior Girls Volleyball Results
The senior girls volleyball team won the Tier 2 city playoffs last night. The team went 5-1 at the city championships to come home with the Veteran's Cup Trophy. The team is in action again on Tuesday night at Vic High in the Lower Island Championships.
CAREER CENTRE
Post Secondary Mini-Fair!!
Representatives from 9 Post Secondary Institutions of BC will be here at Claremont this THURSDAY, October 29th, from 7:00 - 8:00 pm, in the Learning Commons! This mini-fair will include presentations by: FDU - (Fairleigh Dickinson University), Quest, CAF-RMC (Canadian Armed Forces-Royal Military College), SFU (Simon Fraser), Camosun College, JIBC (Justice Institute of BC), UVic, VIU (Vancouver Island University), and TWU (Trinity Western University). Come and get lots of post secondary information all in one place!
University of Calgary Visit
Thinking of a change after grad? A representative from the University of Calgary will be visiting Claremont on MONDAY, Nov. 2 at lunch in the Student Lounge. Come and see what the U of C has to offer you!
Free Retail Training
This is a certificate program that prepares you for first-time work experiences in retail and many other work environments. Training will include: working on a cash register/counting cash, Customer Service, creating displays, pricing and more! Classes are 9:30 am -4:00 pm four Sundays in a row.

First Aid with CPR and AED Training
Alert First-Aid next session is on Thursday, November 12 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm at the SHOAL Centre in Sidney. Cost is $50.00 payable in cash, cheque or credit card. For more information please visit the Career Centre.
