LUNCH MEETINGS TODAY

Join the Knitting Club!
The knitting club meets every THURSDAY at lunch in room 323.  Beginners are welcome and experienced knitters are needed.  This year, we are making a blanket for charity.  Our goal - to knit 48 squares.  Come by TODAY to check it out.

Take Our Kids to Work Day – Forms due Today
Reminder that all permission forms for Take Our Kids to Work Day must be returned by TODAY to the Career Centre.

OK Claremont, let's ramp up for the National Post Secondary & Career Exploration AAAA Competition!  High schools and middle schools across Canada are invited to participate in this one! $25,000 in grand prizes to be won! Woo-hoo!!. The Competition is currently underway as of Oct 26th, until midnight  Dec 4th.  We are currently in 5th place and need to work hard to edge up!!  Get onto your ChatterHigh and start quizzing!  Earn points for yourself and for Claremont! Cool stuff to win!  Don't rush the answers!...standings are based on average points per student. Good luck and Go Spartans!

Key Club - UNICEF
This is the last two days to please donate spare change into the UNICEF boxes found in all your teachers' classrooms. Every little bit can add up to a lot to help children all over the world.

There are still many school bus passes in the office, needing to be picked up.

Halloween Week
Students Government has fun activities planned this week to get us into the Halloween spirit!!  Everyone is welcome to participate or come by to watch!

FRIDAY ~~ Wear a costume and join the costume parade at lunch!

CAREER CENTRE
Soldier for a Day
Application deadline for this program is this FRIDAY!!  Be a soldier for a day - Saturday, November 7th!  The Soldier for A Day work study program will show you how a soldier in the Army Reserve is trained and what they do when they are working for the Canadian Armed Forces. Students will be given the opportunity to see some of the vehicles and equipment used, some basic instruction in marching, and a closer look at the educational and job opportunities offered by some of the Vancouver Island Army Reserve units. Visit the Career Centre for more information!

Post Secondary Mini-Fair!!
TONIGHT from 7:00-9:00 ~  Representatives from 9 Post Secondary Institutions of BC will be in the Learning Commons! This mini-fair will include presentations by:  FDU - (Fairleigh Dickinson University), Quest, CAF-RMC  (Canadian Armed Forces-Royal Military College), SFU (Simon Fraser), Camosun College, JIBC (Justice Institute of BC), UVic, VIU (Vancouver Island University), and TWU (Trinity Western University).  Come and get lots of post secondary information all in one place!

University of Calgary Visit
Thinking of a change after grad? A representative from the University of Calgary will be visiting Claremont on MONDAY, Nov. 2 at lunch in the Student Lounge.  Come and see what the U of C has to offer you!
