LUNCH MEETINGS TODAY
Grads
Reminder of the meeting TODAY at lunch in room 303. Important updates re: grad clothing. Fundraising forms due also.

Swim Team
Claremont School Swim Team:  there is an important meeting TODAY at lunch in the small gym.  If you are not at this meeting, you will not be entered in the Island Championships on November 1st. 

Peer Tutor Meeting
There will be a meeting TODAY at the start of lunch in computer lab 225 for Peer Tutors.  Please see Ms. Giese if you can't attend.

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENT
Take Our Kids to Work Day
Open to all grade 9 students, the annual Take Our Kids to Work day is Wednesday, November 4.  Consider shadowing a parent, neighbour or family friend at what they do on a usual day at work!  Mr. Arsenault will be visiting grade 9 classes during Block 2 TODAY with more information and consent forms. Forms will also be available in the Career Centre.  **Please note: Consent forms for ALL participants in Take Our Kids to Work day MUST BE RETURNED TO THE CAREER CENTRE BY THURSDAY, OCT. 29th - NO Exceptions
Students NOT participating will be given an alternate assignment to be completed and handed in to the Career Centre the following day.  Please visit the Career Centre for more information.

Peer Tutoring
A reminder to students that Peer Tutoring drop-in times are TUESDAY (math and science) and WEDNESDAY (math, science, math, socials) at lunch in Math room 134. Please fill out a request form found on Ms. Giese's office window for one-on-one tutoring if a different time or subject is required.

Camosun College ChatterHigh AA Competition
There are only a few days left for the Camosun College AA Competition!  Camosun College is providing a prize pot of $2250 for this competition running until Oct 23rd!   Log on to ChatterHigh and help to win $$$ for Claremont and at the same time collect points to win stuff for yourself!!  Good luck!

Key Club - UNICEF
Do you want to help children all over the world? Of course you do! Please donate any spare change from now until Halloween into the UNICEF boxes found in all your teachers' classrooms. Every little bit can add up to a lot!

Motivational Day
This FRIDAY is Motivational Day at Mount Doug Secondary School. Every year Youth for Change and Inclusion hosts a day of workshops on topics like Activism Through Art, The Politics of Gender, the situation of refugees in Victoria, and homelessness. There is food, lots of students from other high schools, and it's free with a donation to the Food Bank. Register at Eventbrite; see posters around the school, or ask Ms G-C or Ms Gaudet for details.

London, England – Spring Break 2016
Do you want to go to London at Spring Break?  Mr. Plant will be holding another recruitment meeting this THURSDAY at lunch in the theatre.  This trip is going to happen during Spring Break and will be 9 days in duration.  If you are interested but cannot attend, see Mr. Plant ASAP.

Basketball Tryouts
Reminder of girls tryouts TONIGHT from 6:30-8:15 in the main gym and junior boys tryouts on THURSDAY NIGHT from 7:00-9:30 in the main gym.

Junior Boys Soccer
Jr boys soccer quarter final is at Tyndall Park at 3:00 TODAY vs Mt Doug – there is a lunch meeting TODAY to arrange rides, and all players need to leave class at 2:10.

Senior Girls Undefeated at Cities
The senior girls volleyball team had 2 wins and no losses at the first night of the City Championships.  Great serving from Lauren Montgomery-Stinson and Nadine Albhouse powered the Spartans over the other teams. Cities continue next Tuesday at Vic High.
